Jayden Reid is an American professional soccer player who plays as a left-back for St. Louis City SC in MLS.[1]
Career
[edit]Reid spent five years with the New York Red Bulls Academy, before playing for the UConn Huskies men's soccer team for four years.[2] After concluding his college career, he signed a Homegrown contract on December 21, 2022. He made his MLS debut on May 17, 2023, in a scoreless draw against Toronto FC.[3]
Reid signed with St. Louis City 2 on February 2, 2024, and, after a series of short-term loans, was promoted to the first team on July 7, 2024.[4]
Style of play
[edit]Playing chiefly at the left-back position, Reid is capable of playing as a wing-back and also as a wide midfielder. Reid possesses exceptional acceleration and pace, and has the habit of beating defenders on the overlap. Reid also attempts tricks and skill moves to varying degrees of success.
