Joseph Kwaku Afrifah-Agyekum (born December 22 in the 20th century) is the Catholic Bishop of Koforidua, Ghana.[1][2][3]

Career
[edit]Afrifah-Agyekum was ordained a priest on July 17, 1983,[3] and enshrined in the Diocese of Accra. Since the inauguration of the Koforidua Chapel in 1992, he has been part of the new chapel. After his ordination, he held the following positions: parochial vicar of Accra Cathedral (1983–1985); The priest of the parish “St. Peter's” in Rain (1985–1986); Doctor of Biblical Studies at the Pontifical Athenaeum Sant’ Anselmo in Rome (1986–1992); The priest of the parish “St. George's” in Koforidua, Warden of the Cathedral and Commander-in-Chief of Koforidua (1992–1993). Since 2005, he has been the parish administrator.[1][4]
He was consecrated by Pope Benedict XVI on April 12, 2006. he was appointed Bishop of Koforidua. He was ordained by the Archbishop of Accra, Gabriel Charles Palmer-Buckle, on July 1 of the same year; Presenting were the Archbishop of Kumasi, Peter Kwasi Sarpong, and the Archbishop of Tamale, Gregory Ebolawola Kpiebaya.[4][5]

- 1993-1997: Cathedral Administrator of St.George's Catholic Cathedral, Koforidua[3]
- 1997-2001: Director of Diocesan Pastoral Centre and Activities[3]
- 1993 to May 30, 2005: Vicar General of the Diocese of Koforidua with additional duties as Diocesan Lands and Estate Coordinator and chairman of the management board of the Catholic Educational Unit of the Catholic Diocese of Koforidua.[3]
- May 2005–April 2006: Diocesan Administrator of Catholic Diocese of Koforidua[3]
- Current position at the Bishops' Conference: Episcopal Chairman for Education[3]
- He is also the Vice President of RECOWA.[3][2]
