Why Chiangrai and not Chiang Rai[edit]

Why are the links to Chiang Rai (that is the spelling of the article names) done like this:

Chiangrai Province ([[Chiang Rai Province|Chiangrai Province]])
Mueang Chiangrai District ([[Mueang Chiang Rai District|Mueang Chiangrai District]])

And not like this:

Chiang Rai Province ([[Chiang Rai Province]])
Mueang Chiang Rai District ([[Mueang Chiang Rai District]])
