Template talk:Polish statehood

I made some updates to the template to make it look more "professional". I changed the layout and reduced the font. I also replaced the Piast White Eagle with the current Polish Coat of Arms because that represents Polish statehood as we know it today, instead of at some arbitrary point in Polish history. But if that image is used in another template, I'd don't object to reverting to the Piast Eagle. Please let me know what you think. Appleseed 21:45, 14 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Looks good to me, tnx. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 00:35, 15 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
The present-day Coat of Arms is used in the Politics of Poland template, so I've reverted to the Piast Eagle. Appleseed 17:00, 19 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Polish Secret State

[edit]

I'm thinking about replacing Polish government in exile with Polish Secret State. This template is about statehood, not government, and the government in exile was only one part of that State. Any thoughts? Appleseed 19:07, 22 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Appleseed 14:08, 4 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Polish statehood ?

[edit]

Could you please explain how these entries describe Polish statehood ?

I had removed most of them, but they were added again. Some are not Polish, some are no statehood. -- Matthead  Discuß   02:36, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Besides the proposal to create a German colonial possession in Poland in 1916 all are state-like entities of Polish people. --Molobo (talk) 08:16, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The Kingdom of Poland (1916–1918) was no German colonial possession, but a Polish Kingdom under Austrian-German auspices created with the blessing of the Polish Church and szlachta. Just because it did not fit Polish liberal-nationalists does not mean it is not Poland's history. I have to reinsert it. It is an historical reality. Evaluation of this Kingdom of Poland or of the Kaiserreich of Germany's intentions, is another thing. Maybe August the Strong is also a "Germanic nazi" infiltrator of the Polish Crown in your chauvinistic eyes?Smith2006 (talk) 11:58, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And I removed Grand Duchy of Posen as well as Grand Duchy of Cracow. -- Matthead  Discuß   02:51, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Why Grand Duchy, not Congress Kingdom? Both have similar status - were authonomic parts of Larger Empires. There is no reasonable difference between Czar of Russia with title of Polish King and King of Prussia with title of Grand Duke of Poznań. Radomil talk 09:28, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Congress Kingdom Grand Duchy
Head of state: Czar of Russia with title of King of Poland King of Prussia with title of Grand Duke of Poznań
Represented by: Namestnik of the Kingdom of Poland Duke-Governor
Parlament: Sejm of the Congress Poland Sejm of Grand Duchy of Poznań
Language of administration: Russian and Polish German and Polish
Separate army yes Separate regiments in Prussian army

Do we include real existing entities or proposed ones also

[edit]

German puppet state was only proposed not created, in similar way we would have to include Polish-Czechoslovak Confederation or Polish-Ruthenian Union.--Molobo (talk) 11:43, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the Regency Kingdom as it wasn't even reckognised by Germany or Austria-and they used this as argument to deny Poles place in Brest-Litevsk talks.--Molobo (talk) 03:05, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
