Regarding your reversion of my edit to the article "Stephen Budiansky"
[edit]Greetings and felicitations. I noticed that you reverted my edit to the article "Stephen Budiansky". While I did not state an explicit reason for the changes, I made them in part per MOS:ITALPUNCT (the de-italicization of punctuation), and in part because using the full and proper names of the publications mentioned makes more sense to me than removing the definite article from their titles and then adding it right back in. Would you please be so kind as to undo your reversion of my edit? —DocWatson42 (talk) 03:16, 14 March 2022 (UTC)
- The use of the definite article before names of newspapers and magazines is not in fact accepted style, per all major style manuals -- see AP style, Chicago Manual of Style. etc., and the practice followed by all book publishers and major magazines -- regardless of what might seem to make sense in the abstract. Placing terminal punctuation within quotation marks is also universal US style (as opposed to British style, which places punctuation outside of end quotation marks.
- Agree that punctuation should be de-italicized, but not placed outside of quotation marks. 199.91.177.229 (talk) 15:54, 15 March 2022 (UTC)

- Edit: However, regarding terminal punctuation, see MOS:INOROUT—Wikipedia uses the British style, with double quotation marks. —DocWatson42 (talk) 08:48, 17 March 2022 (UTC)

- I'd like to re-implement my edits, based on the portions of the Wikipedia:Manual of Style that I have cited. May we discuss that? —DocWatson42 (talk) 05:12, 1 July 2022 (UTC)
