WikiProject Good Articles Recruitment Centre
[edit] Hello! Now, some of you might have already received a similar message a little while ago regarding the Recruitment Centre, so if you have, there is no need to read the rest of this. This message is directed to users who have reviewed over 15 Good article nominations and are not part of WikiProject Good articles (the first message I sent out went to only WikiProject members). So for those who haven't heard about the Recruitment Centre yet, you may be wondering why there is a Good article icon with a bunch of stars around it (to the right). The answer? WikiProject Good articles will be launching a Recruitment Centre very soon! The centre will allow all users to be taught how to review Good article nominations by experts just like you! However, in order for the Recruitment Centre to open in the first place, we need some volunteers:
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to seeing this program bring new reviewers to the Good article community and all the positive things it will bring along. A message will be sent out to all recruiters regarding the date when the Recruitment Centre will open when it is determined. The message will also contain some further details to clarify things that may be a bit confusing.--Dom497 (talk) This message was sent out by --EdwardsBot (talk) 15:03, 9 June 2013 (UTC) |
Speedy deletion declined: Gravity bong
[edit]Hello CrowzRSA. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Gravity bong, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Deletion of this page may be controversial or is under discussion. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 23:28, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
RE: Tupac Shakur
[edit]Sort of. That page has been dreadful and poorly formatted/referenced for years, so I'm just working through the sections and getting them up to modern guidelines. If I can summon up the motivation, it would be nice to make it a featured list, but it's more of a long term project. Of course, you're quite welcome to help and carry out any edits you think will get the page closer to that level. I Am Rufus • Conversation is a beautiful thing. 18:02, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
DYK for Temptations (song)
[edit]On 9 January 2014, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Temptations (song), which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the music video for Tupac Shakur's song "Temptations" does not feature Shakur because he was incarcerated at the time? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Temptations (song). You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

DYK for Leave Home
[edit]Would it be all right with you if I nominated Leave Home for DYK? — Maile (talk) 20:23, 7 February 2014 (UTC)
- Only if I'm co-nominator :)) CrowzRSA 22:45, 7 February 2014 (UTC)
- Have you done DYK? I was going to list you as the article creator, which I believe is the credit you actually want. The template automatically lists the nominator as the person who actually filled out the form. And all it means is that I filled out the form. You get the big credit. Below is from the nomination template. I list your name as author. The nominator name is automatic from who filled it out Please let me know:— Maile (talk) 22:55, 7 February 2014 (UTC)

GA on Megadeth
[edit]Hey pal, I can see you're busy with the Ramones' albums, but if you have some spare time, can you take a look at Megadeth's article? You've been working on Slayer, so I think you can handle the review just fine. Thanks in advance.--Вик Ретлхед (talk) 21:05, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

About The System Has Failed notes:
1) "Rust in Peace lineup" is not a quote, just a reference to the band's most famous lineup. Should I re-write it or leave it the way it is?
- Since it is not a quote, remove the quotation marks CrowzRSA 23:33, 1 March 2014 (UTC)
2) If I understood you right, I should have delinked Sanctuary Records and Chris Poland, which I already did. Cheers.--Вик Ретлхед (talk) 12:57, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah, just make sure things are only linked (at most) twice throughout the article: once in the lead and again in its first appearance in context. CrowzRSA 23:33, 1 March 2014 (UTC)
3) About the album, it was simply named Gigantour. Should I mention it or leave the sentence as it is?--Вик Ретлхед (talk) 18:28, 2 March 2014 (UTC)
- You might want to include the name if you're planning on nominating it for FA, but for GA it should be fine the way it is. CrowzRSA 18:40, 2 March 2014 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Logo for Korn project.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Logo for Korn project.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. Gangsta rap albums
[edit]I did not remove Category:Gangsta rap albums from Eazy-Duz-It because it is not gangsta rap. In my edit summary, I said see Category:Eazy-E albums. If you look there, you'll see that a parent category for that is Category:Gangsta rap albums, which means every album in Category:Eazy-E albums is automatically categorized as a gangsta rap album. Retrohead and I have been sporadically working on that one hoping to get it up to GA status, but I'm not sure it's near that standard yet. I've seen that you got some of the smaller Slayer pages (Eternal Pyre, Live Undead, Haunting the Chapel) to GA status, so your input on the matter would be valuable. Thanks again.--L1A1 FAL (talk) 16:05, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

Roll Call August 2014
[edit]With the fifth album just weeks away and loads of information is being released concerning the album, singles, tours etc. I would like as many people as possible to join in to help get some more of Slipknot's articles in the Good Article section and even help push the main page as a featured article. Just so the Project can keep an updated list of people who continue to contribute to the Project a Roll Call will happen from time to time. It is understood that over time, users may have lost interest in the Project or Wikipedia all together; if you have, it's no big deal. If you would like to keep contributing to the project please sign the list. If you do not add your name to the list by September 25, you will become an "Inactive member", this will bar you from voting in the AoF. Remember, if you ever want to join the project again, you are always welcome!!! If you are interested in continuing helping sign your name here Kevon100 Talk! Mail 20:22, 25 August 2014 (UTC)

The fact was ... that on the Ramones' 1987 Halfway to Sanity tour, the group was banned from playing at Boston College and attended a student anti-censorship protest instead? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Halfway to Sanity. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Halfway to Sanity), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000.
