Wombourn/Wombourne

[edit]

I'm sure you're right. The spelling should respect the usage, and if the station was actually called Wombourne, that's the end of the matter. I'm not interested in maintaining a now-obsolete spelling - only in making sure it's clearly understood that the spelling has varied over time. OS didn't bring in the e until the current Landranger series. I was annoyed at some time in the past that people tried to remove references to the variant form from a name and etymology section on the village, where it clearly belonged. History is history. Thanks for your interest and for communicating it. Cheers. Sjwells53 (talk) 12:08, 16 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Article Feedback deployment

[edit]

Hey Keomike; I'm dropping you this note because you've used the article feedback tool in the last month or so. On Thursday and Friday the tool will be down for a major deployment; it should be up by Saturday, failing anything going wrong, and by Monday if something does :). A tag has been placed on Firth Cleveland requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Uberaccount (talk) 01:17, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Leeds university accomodation

[edit]

I do not see why such an article should not exist. Since much of it is apparently self-catering as opposed to the traditional model where the university operated a sort of half-board hotel, I think the present name is probably better. I hope you can fill in the blank sections. If you cannot, I would suggest you make them a list of other alls of residence. Peterkingiron (talk) 18:29, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to be picky about the name. But it was the agreed format for when disambiguation by both barony and county is necessary. Can't find the discussion at WikiProject Ireland now, but it's in the archive. Best of luck. Laurel Lodged (talk) 19:25, 4 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Very happy with that. I did not name this article but as I did not know the history and am not yet familiar with all aspects of WP:MOS-IE I resisted the temptation to move it myself when I started editing it. It now matches the disambiguation I've been using. With regard to the change of the earlier article on the barony of Kilkenny West I agree that KW is unique but when I googled it I found news items where the Kilkenny City East & West wards are incorrectly abbreviated to Kilkenny East and Kilkenny West and was tempted to over–disambiguate! Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Civil parishes of County Westmeath requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ardnurcher, County Offaly (civil parish), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Tully. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Kilcleagh, (civil parish), and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/fuses/townlands/index.cfm?fuseaction=TownlandsInCivil&civilparishid=2469&civilparish=Kilcleagh&citycounty=Westmeath.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.
