You are currently unable to edit Wikipedia. You are still able to view pages, but you are not currently able to edit, move, or create them. Editing from 18.203.0.0/16 has been blocked (disabled) by SQL for the following reason(s):
- Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 08:21, 28 May 2019 (UTC)
- That range is blocked as being an Amazon Web Services(AWS) webhost. You won't be able to edit as long as you are using your current IP. Have you recently changed the physical location at which you are editing? 331dot (talk) 08:42, 28 May 2019 (UTC)

Progressive rock/symphonic rock
[edit]For me, the issue regarding this is that symphonic rock used to have its own article, which was then deleted due to a lack of reliable sources. The progressive rock article states "sometimes called art rock, classical rock or symphonic rock", meaning that symphonic rock is an alternate name for prog, not a distinct genre or even subgenre like neo-progressive rock, which has its own article due to sufficient reliable sources. While the term art rock is also sometimes used as an alternate name, that DOES have its own article here and a very good and detailed one - and it clearly is a distinct genre from prog as it incorporates, for example, the music style of David Bowie, who is not generally regarded as a progressive rock artist but was a creative and highly experimental and eclectic musician. Same goes for Kate Bush.
In instances where there is a good source for the alternate name symphonic rock but none for progressive rock, for example the article of "Live and Let Die" by Wings, who are not normally considered part of the progressive genre but that particular song fits, symphonic rock should be used. Rodericksilly (talk) 17:14, 31 May 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for your response. However, Prog Archives is not usually used as a reliable source for genres on Wikipedia, in fact where it's been used I think it's usually been removed, and that description from that source almost certainly wouldn't be enough to build an article on symphonic rock as there was more than that when symphonic rock had its own article before being deleted. BTW, I'm not against attempting to build an article on symphonic rock if we can find enough sources for one, similar to those on neo-prog and art rock etc. But until then the genres should just stay as progressive rock, as the progressive rock article does not state that symphonic rock is either a separate genre or a subgenre. ArbCom 2019 election voter message
[edit]The file File:ArthurConanDoyle HoundOfTheBaskervilles title.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
unused, low-res, no obvious use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 30 November 2019 (UTC)
Nomination for deletion of Template:WikiProject Spooks

The article Douglas Scott (writer) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Michael Green - thank you
[edit]Hi Kevin,
Just a little note to say 'thank you' for all the work you put into updating the Michael_Green_(theologian) page last year. I'm one of his grandsons, and my father and I were talking over the weekend about whether there was anything which we'd forgotten to update after Michael passed - which instantly turned us to Wikipedia! I see from the edit history that you put a lot of work into updating the page in the weeks following his move to glory, and we just wanted to express our gratefulness for the hand you've played in keeping the information clear and up to date. (The list of works isn't complete, but that's a task my dad has agreed to update in due course! He and Rosemary are still going through the bungalow checking whether there are any other works he was involved with so that they're certain of the full list.)
Thanks again,

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Requests for novels peer review
[edit]A tag has been placed on Category:Requests for novels peer review requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! The article The Traitor Spy (novel series) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline requirement nor the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (fiction) supplementary essay. WP:BEFORE did not reveal any significant coverage on Gnews, Gbooks or Gscholar. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page here in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back through WP:ECHO or by leaving a note at User talk:Piotrus. Thank you.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. November 2021
[edit]Please stop adding "forthcoming 2022" in album discographies.
- It does not in fact need to be noted - it's well established that the current year is 2021 and next year is 2022, so it's already made clear by that alone by a simple (2022) next to an album that it's a future release.
- Even beyond that, it goes against the music article style guidelines. Just a year is listed in the discography section, and you look to the article body or the albums own article for an exact date, and by that, find out if it's a future release or not. You don't outright add notes like "forthcoming" in the discography section itself.
Please stop. Thanks. Sergecross73 msg me 02:11, 4 November 2021 (UTC)

- Unfortunately, the code seems to have a typo, causing it to appear incorrectly. Here is the fixed code that you can copy and paste.
