Reanalysis for 1921 to 1925 ATL

[edit]

HURDAT has been updated with the new information for the 1921 to 1925 Atlantic hurricane seasons, several storms have been added and one was upgraded to a Cat:5. Could you update/make the tracks for those seasons, thanks. (link for updated HURDAT) Cyclonebiskit 22:27, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

odd format?

[edit]

"One consequence is this really odd date format that can't be customized to one's browser." Could you explain which format you mean? Tony (talk) 11:04, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

JTWC Best Track for 2007-08

[edit]

The best tracks for the SHem (2007-08), NIO (2008), and WPac (2008), are available here. I'm not sure if there's going to be an issue since they're not in HURDAT format but could you update the tracks? :) Thanks, Cyclonebiskit 14:53, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

SHEM 96

[edit]

I see that you are making a table for the season, but I already added in the infoboxes.--Yue of the North 16:07, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

They look quite good, can I copy them for the other basins and seasons? --Yue of the North 00:54, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you see my user page, you will see that I started the table for the Australian region, it is the same, but for the Australian region, can you add in a parameter for the Storm Images because you can find them in the GOES archives?--Yue of the North 01:47, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Images

[edit]

I meant like this:

Storm name JTWC number Active dates Storm classification at peak intensity Max. winds

(mph)

Min. pressure

(hPa)

Storm track map Storm Image
Lindsay 01S July 9 – July 13 Category 1 tropical cyclone (BoM) 45

(10-minute)

990
Tropical storm (SSHS)

--Yue of the North 02:09, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

any for the storms that didn't have images on my user page, it was because I did not add them in. --Yue of the North 02:10, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tables + SHEM 96

[edit]

I like the table that has been done for the AUS 96 Season. Though i have some concerns - BoM Perth will have reports on the TCs in their AOR so are we going to write a summuary on them and include the infobox or wat. Also having done a quick search ive discovered that Harold is a Category 2 Cyclone by BoM. Also is this how we are going to do any season before Nadi became an RSMC as it looks good. Thanks Jason Rees (talk) 20:36, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your idea sounds good so im happy to support it, however i will leave it up to you to code it in as i do not really know how to do that - im currently planning to try and get some of the SPAC seasons up to at least C-Class (if not GA) once the current season has offically ended. Also nice work with the trackmap updating you did recently - is that it now or are their more too come Thanks Jason Rees (talk) 19:28, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2008 NIO STORMS

[edit]
From Irdicent:

Can you make track maps for the IMD storms that the JTWC did not warn on, I copied the IMD data into pictures and saved them and webcited them, here they are:

Infobox Hurricane

[edit]

Ive noticed a bug with it. Cyclone Gabrielle has been downgraded to a Tropical low by BoM and has the same windspeeds but the infobox is cutting off the JTWC data when i add in Type =. Would you be able to find a solution to this? Thanks Jason Rees (talk) 00:44, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

err scratch that Cyclonebiskit has managed to find a solution using Type1= Thanks anyway Jason Rees (talk) 00:48, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Old Pacific hurricane seasons tropical depressions track maps

[edit]

From the HPC link that was on the project talk, I found tracking data for the tropical depressions 1965-69. Can you make track maps out of them? the headers are the tropical depression number and the year (ex. Twenty-Two 66)

Irdicent 23 14:57, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I hid them, but how do you make it into HURDAT format? (sorry) ----Irdicent 23 15:14, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

HURDAT file errors you commented on

[edit]

I sent an e-mail to the ones most involved in the EPAC HURDAT track book, which comes out soon. The one who responded mentioned that you caught an error which they had not noticed, relating to a conversion error from the TCR to HURDAT. =) I e-mailed them about Kika as well, just in case it isn't a CPHC/JTWC delay like what was seen during Ioke a few years ago. Re: track map program

[edit]

Ok, I've downloaded Mac Ports but now I'm lost. (I'm incapable of doing this kind of technical stuff on my own) Can you tell me step by step exactly what I'm supposed to do and how to do it? Sorry if this is a pain but I really want to get this program running and help out :) Thanks, Cyclonebiskit (talk) 20:36, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Track Map Program questions

[edit]

Ok, I've recently gotten the track map program up and running and I have two questions about it for you. I've seen in your maps, that you're able to get the Extratropical points in the map, I'm unable to do that for some reason. Is there something I need to do for that to work? The second thing is how do I make tracks for southern hemisphere storms? Thanks, Cyclonebiskit (talk) 18:11, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Pacific typhoon articles

[edit]

How does it make it more confusing that I'm putting into the official data? All the JTWC is unofficial and therefore shouldn't be used as the main intensity. If need be, we should restart that discussion if you want to continue to hold your ground with the JTWC. Cyclonebiskit (talk) 01:35, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm in the middle of rewriting that article. Please, don't badger me about my edits unless they are obviously incorrect. Cyclonebiskit (talk) 12:32, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome Back

[edit]
