I have moved your article...

[edit]

@Thomediter: Greetings, I'm Exemplo347. I have just moved an article you created, OGAE Poll 2017, to Draft:OGAE Poll 2017. The reason I have done this is to enable you to work on it, without it being nominated for deletion as a test page. When you have finished, please submit it for review through the Articles for Creation process. Regards Exemplo347 (talk) 11:29, 29 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:OGAE Poll 2017, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:36, 30 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:OGAE Poll 2017

[edit]

Hello, Thomediter. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "OGAE Poll 2017".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. TKK! bark with me! 15:39, 4 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

AO Tennis‎‎

[edit]

I explained in my edit summary why I removed that information. We do not include lists of players, tournaments or arenas on video game articles. WP:GAMECRUFT explains this. This is an encyclopedia written for a general reader, not a game guide or a manual or an indiscriminate collection of information. --The1337gamer (talk) 11:54, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

But why don't you do that, how does is hurt? I have sources, so why is it a problem, — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thomediter (talkcontribs)
It has nothing to do with sources. The content is not appropriate for an encyclopedia article. Wikipedia has guidelines on what we include in articles and the overwhelming is to not include stuff like this. If you check other well-written video game articles, you will not see lists of levels, characters, weapons and other in-game items/concepts there. These things are not important to the general reader. --The1337gamer (talk) 12:01, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A lot of tennis video games wikipedias have that information, it's just it's not an opinion to have included, it's for information, which a genereal reader, would like to know. --thomediter (talk) 12:03, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

What are you doing?. Why are you so mean to me. I did what you said, and again you added notability, to my page. Why???? --thomediter (talk) 17:46, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Info on articles being deleted

[edit]

Hi there, I'm Serge, and Admin here at Wikipedia. I saw your edit where you expressed confusion and frustration on why your content and articles keep getting deleted from Wikipedia. I apologize for the bad experience. However, there is a bit of a learning curve with editing Wikipedia. It's not just like blogging or messageboards like Gamefaqs where you can write whatever you want. There are a lot of policies and guidelines to consider. It's often good to start slow when starting to edit.

  1. As to why the list of characters/players/teams keeps getting removed from articles - please read WP:GAMECRUFT. The short version is, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a game guide website. Wikipedia documents things from more of a historical perspective, documenting things like development history, how it was reviewed by critics, and a brief explanation of what sort of gameplay it has. It's not a gameguide that lists out all the characters, game options, weapons, tournaments, etc. It's just fundamentally not what we do here. If that's what you aim to write about, that's fine, but it's better added to fan wikias or places like Gamefaqs.
  1. As to why your articles may have been deleted, please read this essay, where I try to break it down for newcomers.

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks. Sergecross73 msg me

It's not worth my time, if a silly rule about player list being irrelevant, when they clearly are one of the most important things in Tennis video games, so I don't want spend time on that dumb thing. Delete the articles if you want. --thomediter (talk) 16:52, 10 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It's not just a "silly rule", its some of the very foundations of how to write Wikipedia articles. We don't need to argue any further if you're dropping this particular issue, but if you decide to keep editing Wikipedia, I strongly recommend that you to take the time to learn these basic concepts. Otherwise, you'll see that you'll just continue to have your articles deleted and your content removed. Sergecross73 msg me 22:15, 10 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It's disagree, it is a strange silly rule, that dosen't make sense. Player lists is very important information for tennis video games. --thomediter (talk) 15:46, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Try thinking of it this way: Let's say you wanted to order a pizza from a place like Pizza Hut or Little Cesars. Wouldn't it be useful to have a list of locations and addresses on their Wikipedia articles? Or a menu for toppings and prices? Or a list of phone numbers to call for delivery? Of course it would. But do you see that on any of their articles? No. Why is that? Because of our policy of WP:NOTDIRECTORY. Lists like that are outside of the scope of what an encyclopedia covers. It's fundamentally not what they do. Just because something is useful, does not mean it belongs in an article. Player lists fall into the same situation. Sergecross73 msg me 17:47, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Almost every single tennis wikipedia page had a list of players, until an user deleted it of almost every tennis video game wikpedia. I still think it's important enough to be on wikipedia. --thomediter (talk) 17:50, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but just because it was there, doesn't make it right. A user rightfully deleted it because it violated policy and guidelines. While you're free to start discussions to change them or create "exceptions", if you're going to repeat subjective claims of "its important" and ""its useful" over and over again, you're not going to convince anyone. Which leads me back to my earlier point - you'd be better off if you either tried to learn the basics of what's appropriate on Wikiedia, or move on to a website that allows for this sort of content. How're you're currently acting isn't going to work out. Sergecross73 msg me 18:14, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I really want the lists, because I really think they are relevant, and it seems I am not changing my opinion about that --thomediter (talk) 22:28, 12 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from 2017 French Open into 2018 French Open. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 17:42, 13 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi :). First I wanna apologize for copying without giving contribution, I wasn't sure how I should do it or if it was required when a lot dag was changed. But I understand now, and I know what to do when I copy in the future. I see you added the contribution to the site, so I would like to know if there is anything that I then should do now. Hello. There are many sources that say Setién is coming to the end of his time at Barcelona. There is nothing that I can find on FCB's website or social media that says he has gone. He is still listed as coach on the website.

The English Wikipedia relies on reliable published sources that verify the facts, particularly facts about living people. If you can supply a source published by FCB that states clearly that Setién has left the club, please add it to the article. Without such a source, Wikipedia can't claim he has. Cut and paste moves

[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Liz Read! To add, the image and maps used orange for "Christian Democrats" before 2022. See previous election pages. ValenciaThunderbolt (talk) 17:17, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Party colours

[edit]

Your changes are deeply unhelpful and controversial, hence why they have been reverted. When changes you make are reverted, you are expected to gain consensus for them via a discussion, not try and force them back in via edit warring. If you continue to do this, I will be requesting you are blocked from editing the modules. Number 57 19:34, 23 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from 2022–23 UEFA Champions League into Draft:2024–25 UEFA Europa League. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 20:26, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Warning

[edit]

Seriously, if you don't stop changing the module without gaining consensus, either I'll be requesting you're blocked, or the template will be locked to prevent you editing it. Stop it. Number 57 20:49, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What you have added to WT:E&R is far too detailed and isn't going to encourage contributions. Can I suggest a huge simplification and changing it to an WP:RfC with the simple question: "How should party colours on Wikipedia be determined" – by the dominant colour of their logo or by usage in the media. Number 57 10:00, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I will re-write it then Thomediter (talk) 10:02, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've no idea what you are doing with this, but when I said start an RfC, this is what you should have done. This is how RfCs work. Number 57 10:29, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So you want it to be a discussion just about Green–Left / Red–Green alliance rather than a wider question about all parties? Number 57 10:44, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm interested in chancing the color of those 2 parties because I like spending my times on Danish election articles, but feel frustrated to see the wrong colors. There are too many parties on wikipedia who don't use their logo color for us to say that "logo colors are a rule". I'm not super interested in the wider question, as I'm mostly interested in dealing with the parties I find interesting myself, and hope that I can be allowed to change the 2 colors.
I've recived agreements for Red-Green Alliance, and I therefore I think I should be allowed to change that color.
Cheers, thomediter. Thomediter (talk) 10:48, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
For me I can agree to go with the now improved with arguments third opinion on Green Left if you can agree to go with the third and fourth opinion on Red-Green Alliance. I can live with saying that we keep Green Left as it is, but change Red-Green Alliance to orange. I don't know if this may sound like a compromise and has no place on wikipedia, but to be honest I don't think so. Mulitple parties have their colors on media association and not one of their logo's association, so to have Red-Green Alliance on orange is fine. We've recieved opinions on both our cases, and I can agree to conclude that can you've won consensus on Green Left, if you can agree that I won consensus on Red-Green Alliance.
I hope this will be okay with you, as I don't want to still keep these discussions.
Cheers, thomediter Thomediter (talk) 10:54, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Folketing, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Nonalignment. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Speedy deletion nomination of Top Spin 2K25

Hello Thomediter,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Top Spin 2K25 for deletion, because it's a redirect from an article title to a namespace that's not for articles.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Next United Kingdom general election shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Stifle (talk) 15:24, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Additionally, if you are adding information about the election date, you need to cite your source in the normal way (not by vaguely pointing at media outlets in edit summary). Stifle (talk) 15:25, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
