crDroid is a customized fork of Android based on LineageOS. It has been pioneering in offering unofficial releases of Android 10, 11, 12.1, 13, and 14 Custom ROMs.

The crDroid website provides a list of supported devices along with the date of the latest release for each.[2]

History and reception[edit]

crDroid began its journey in late 2012 when Cristiano Matos developed the initial releases for the Samsung Galaxy S3.[3] Over the years, it garnered attention and acclaim from the Android community.

In 2014, Saad Khan of Team Android highlighted crDroid's features in a detailed article.[4]

In subsequent years, crDroid continued to gain recognition for its stable releases and user-friendly experience. Notable mentions include articles by Neeraj Jast in 2015,[5] Rafia Shaikh in 2016,[6] and Mathew Diekhake in 2017.[7]

In 2019, crDroid's popularity surged further with the availability of Android 10 for various devices,[8] as recognized by Arol Wright of XDA developers.[9]

In 2022, crDroid continued its legacy with the release of crDroid 8 (Android 12), showcasing its commitment to innovation and user satisfaction.[10]

Currently crDroid is at version 10, bringing Android 14 support to numerous devices.
