Jalani Davis (born 23 May 2001) is an American track and field athlete who competes in the shot put, hammer throw and weight throw.[1]

Early life[edit]

From Hampton, Virginia, Davis attended Bethel High School before competing for the University of Mississippi.[2][3][4]

Career[edit]

In March 2023, Davis finished first in the women's weight throw final at the 2023 NCAA Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico.[5]

Davis won the hammer throw and won silver in the shot put at the 2023 NACAC U20 Championships in San Jose, Costa Rica. She was subsequently selected for the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest to compete in the shot put.[6]

In February 2024, she won the SEC Championship weight throw competition with a distance of 25.09 metres, making her just third college athlete to ever throw over 25 metres ranked her ninth on the all-time world list.[7] In March 2024, she retained her weight throw title at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships in Boston, Massachusetts.[8][9]
