Thank you for a nice start. I miss cantatas ;) - I think the related topics are rather distant, and don't think Christmas Eve should be part of Advent. Perhaps the songs deserve a separate section? More to come. "Wachet auf" seems more related than Christmas Eve. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:42, 1 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Yes, I agree, please do compile cantatas. The music section could comfortably split into subgroups with more material. Perhaps hymns & carols, cantatas, publications...? There is a category called category:Advent songs but it's very incomplete and I don't like the title either. I do think Christmas Eve should be retained though - it is the last day of Advent, after all.
Interesting question about the use of quotes around hymns - yes, according to MOS:ITALICTITLE and MOS:QUOTETITLE, major works get italics and songs (presumably also hymns) get quotes. So technically you're right, we should quote all the hymns and songs here, but I wonder if it's necessary/desirable to do this in navboxes? I'm not sure what the guidelines are, but happy to comply with whatever the MOS stipulates. Cnbrb (talk) 18:28, 1 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
in {{Lutheran hymns}}, we discuss it, and are close to removing them because they are all hymns. In the present mix, I thought they'd be useful. If we have a section of only songs, we can drop them again. We might even make Latin songs, English and German separate. The Advent cantatas are all here. - I would include only those with an article, not just IMSPL or redirect. - No idea if alphabetical is a good idea of sorting. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:21, 1 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, very interesting! Thanks for that link. It's amazing what's hidden away in the depths of Wikipedia! OK, re. the quotes, let's wait until the Lutherans have decided. I don't feel strongly whether we should have quotation marks or not, but I do think that it should be consistent within the navbox. I'll have a go and improving the music section and we can see what we think. Cnbrb (talk) 10:57, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
