Republic of China or Republic of China (Taiwan)[edit]

The "Participants" section of the template had the parties as People's Republic of China and Republic of China (Taiwan). A recent edit changed this to People's Republic of China and Republic of China with changed explained as the use of the official names.

The template is primarily for the sake of navigation. Many users who see the template may not be aware that what they know as "Taiwan" is officially called "Republic of China". It is helpful to include the "(Taiwan)" in the link. Nothing about the link indicates that it is the official name and in fact the parentheses heavily imply that there is something to the inclusion of "Taiwan" other than being part of a name.
