I was just thinking the same thing – this template is getting pretty large, and it would be nice to have the featured songs collapsed by default. I've thrown together a possible implementation at User:ModernDayTrilobite/sandbox2. Let me know if anyone has any thoughts or feedback; if there's no objection, I'll probably push my version to the main template page in a few days.
