The C.I.P. is an electronic duo band formed in late 2013 in Italy.[1] The group consists of Michele Scheveger (lead vocals and additional synthesizer) and Simone Cavalli (synthesizer and samplers).

Beginnings[edit]

The C.I.P. was formed in Rome, in September 2013 by Michele Scheveger and Simone Cavalli. After Scheveger and Cavalli finished school, the two began writing songs in Cavalli's garage. The duo began to practice together in studios, spending hours together writing music, attending electronic shows, and playing at house parties. The duo first operated under a variety of names until they registered the band "The C.I.P".

Daydream and "We'll Set The World On Fire"[edit]

The band's first performance was at a local festival for Halloween. The duo found success in Rome's music scene and met Antonio Filippelli, a former member of Vanilla Sky, who became the band's producer. With Filippelli, the duo made their debut album Daydream, released in June 2014 for Volcan Records. The album was recorded in a local studio in Tuscany in the summer of 2013, and released after more than a year of intense production. Daydream hit the number 1 position on the iTunes Electronic chart in Italy[2] and the number 52 spot on the iTunes general chart.[3]

The music video of the first single called “We’ll Set The World On Fire” was released by Rockit as an exclusive preview on the June 23rd, 2014 and garnered more than 30,000 views.[4]

Collaboration with MTV[edit]

The C.I.P was nominated "Artist of the Week” by MTV New Generation (MTV Italy) on the June 30th, 2014,[5] was invited to perform at the MTV Digital Days in Turin on the September 13th, 2014.[6] During the event, the band won the Best New Generation Electro MTV Music Award and was nominated “Artist of the Month” by MTV. The C.I.P appeared on Rolling Stone Magazine (Italy) in January 2017.[7]
