Welcome!

Hello, Anas1712, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. The article Oulfa has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No substantive content.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Shadowjams (talk) 06:50, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Wikiportal/Greece listed at Redirects for discussion[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Wikipedia:Wikiportal/Greece. Since you had some involvement with the Wikipedia:Wikiportal/Greece redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion (if you have not already done so). If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Wikipedia:Wikiportal/Greece, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Mhiji 03:54, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Meaghan Blanchard requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about it should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you can assert the notability of the subject, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

Please remember to list at WP:CP[edit]

When tagging a page witgh {{copyvio}} please remember to also list it at WP:CP as described in the instructions in the template. The copyvio at Episkopi, Limassol has only jsut be dealt with as those that deal with copyvios at WP:CP were unaware of it. A bot would normally automatically list anything that was not listed but this was down for several months and it's best it is not relied upon. Dpmuk (talk) 05:19, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for November 10[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Museum of the First National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Huangpu District (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Mexican Drug War[edit]

Hi Anas1712. Thanks for your recent updates at Mexican Drug War. Can you please start using edit summaries for your updates? It's hard to know why you've deleted large chunk of material, and it's also hard to know what kind of information you're adding. Unexplained removals of large material becomes harder for everyone to assume good faith, which means your edits are likely to be reverted per WP:FIES. I'd appreciate if you can explain your updates at the Mexican Drug War page so far as well since I'm a page watcher. Thanks, MX () 13:54, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I second that. Most of the info removed is sourced with recent references. Cheers, Rowan Forest (talk) 14:03, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@MX: As I've indicated in the top of the section, I'm working on the references (mostly, journal references) and as I've worked yesterday late in the night, I've saved it unfinished, to be sure that I can continue to edit it today. So, today in the morning, I've match the multiples references in one per article, but as I didn't know the FIES policy, I didn't write a summary because I've placed the template in the begin of the section.
Sorry for some errors I've made, but as my mother wiki is the french wiki (my mother language is French too, so if I've done vocabulary or grammar faults, my excuses) and thanks for having helped me. --Anas1712 (talk) 14:12, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Anas1712. Don't worry. I didn't think your edits were vandalism. I just didn't know what you were trying to do and figured it would be easier for everyone if you provided an explanation in your edit summaries (the templates in the section are usually meant for readers only since they are the ones who are not viewing your changes through a Watchlist). Both practices are good, so thank you for adding a template. I'm still a bit confused as far as why you deleted sources, but I'll wait for an explantion here or in the edit summaries. Please feel free to proceed with your contributions now that you know this. MX () 14:21, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@MX: I've just added too much reformulated cite journal templates for already journal article references (with the autofill function in the toolbar), so i just try to wikify journal references who were already in the text. The others contributions are not of me. I should have done offline or in my userspace, but I've done it in the article itself. Here is what I've done in article, I haven't add info in the rext, just tried to wikify the references. Thanks, --Anas1712 (talk) 15:14, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
P.S.: You can see in this history link that, except in the top of the article, where I haven't personnaly worked, nothing have been added in the cleaned references (I've wikified it, of course). [16:05, 4 August 2018 (UTC)]

Antichrist of Khorasan moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Antichrist of Khorasan, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Please do not add nonexistent, red link categories to any page on Wikipedia. According to policy, WP:REDNO, red link categories must be removed or a category created. Misuse of Citation bot[edit]

Please don't run Citation bot to change "work" to "newspaper" in citation templates. It's a pointless cosmetic edit and has so far been applied inconsistent to the existing citation style (which must be retained per WP:CITEVAR). For the record, "work" is universal across most CS1 templates, while "newspaper" is not. SounderBruce 03:41, 2 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I am reverting your addition of a date of birth to Kym Karath because of two concerns. 1) If a date is shown, it needs a visible citation associated with it, rather than a comment in the edit summary. 2) Wikidata and IMDb, both of which you mentioned in the edit summary, have problems with regard to reliability. IMDb is unreliable. (See WP:IMDB.) Wikidata has its own problems, as summarized in the statement, "Wikidata content is of variable reliability. By its nature (scooping data from multiple wiki-projects) it cannot be treated as a reliable source given the differing standards across all wiki-projects (and wiki-data's own requirements)." (Wikipedia:Wikidata/2018 State of affairs).

WP:BLPPRIVACY calls for use of "... dates of birth that have been widely published by reliable sources, or by sources linked to the subject such that it may reasonably be inferred that the subject does not object to the details being made public." We need better sources than Wikidata and IMDb to meet that standard. Eddie Blick (talk) 19:44, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for my mistake, I would take more precosions for adding dates. But I've found the dates in other wikis, maybe inserted via Wikidata in infobox. In all case, if someone would find the info, it's on Wikipedia, he must just change the language.

Dear Anas1712. While Tiruvallur is indeed a satellite city of Chennai, both Avadi and Tambaram are suburbs of Chennai, lying within the CMA. For administrative reasons, they both have been upgraded to corporations from being municipalities. Nevertheless, they are parts of Chennai, well within the CMDA's administration. Victoria Hospital, Rothesay[edit]

Hi - I notice that you have added "Queen Victoria" navboxes to a number of articles. Please can you take a look at WP:BIDIRECTIONAL. It says "Every article that transcludes a given navbox should normally also be included as a link in the navbox, so that the navigation is bidirectional." So, my understanding is that either you need to include a series of new links in the Queen Victoria navbox or remove the navboxes, as they are not currently bidirectional. Happy to discuss. Dormskirk (talk) 17:26, 2 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,
It's true that I have seen that most articles about monuments named for Victoria's jubileums are not included in her navbox, but as the other monarchs' template are included in articles related to the jubileum, I've added that. The fact is that I've used Transclusion check about the {{Jubilees of British monarchs}} and I've filled the navbox where it isn't present,when I saw many article related to Victoria, I added the template. Here is the explication. Anas1712 (talk) 17:35, 2 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Thanks for that. I take the point that you have added the names to {{Jubilees of British monarchs}} but I don't think that helps with {{Queen Victoria}}. I cannot say I am too bothered about it, so I will leave it to your discretion, but other editors may make the same observation. Best wishes. Dormskirk (talk) 17:43, 2 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Order of elements[edit]

Please read WP:ORDER and move the coordinates in Jubilee Clock Tower, Weymouth and other articles back to their correct place. I don't know why you have decided to put them at the top of these articles, but the coordinates belong near the bottom, after navboxes. Thanks. PamD 20:34, 2 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, that what I will do, but putting "<noinclude>" in the line after the last "}}" don't add a space in the pages that use the template. That's why I think it's ok to put the category in the line after. In all cases, as I've seen, the norms are written, so I will omply with it. Anas1712 (talk) 08:25, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes it does. If the space doesn't show up in the resulting page, that's only because there's no blank lines between the template and whatever block element follows it. If the source has
{{foo}}  bar
and {{foo}} has a line break before <noinclude>, the page will be rendered with an extra <br> before "bar". Nardog (talk) 09:15, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
ok, i unterstand. I've already stop doing that with the message of Andrybak, but thanks for the explication. Anas1712 (talk) 09:20, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

No offense. Hello. I think these entries are still worth adding, and I will expand them based on the Chinese Wikipedia or the original language entries. Thanks! Ansony89 (talk) 11:02, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It's not me, it's @Fram: who revert your edits. I just restored my edits (link to wikidata, autority control & cats), who are worth it, if there is still a redirect. Anas1712 (talk) 11:06, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
