Information icon Hello! Thank you for your recent contributions to Andrew Lack (executive). I did have one note for you. I am working on a maintenance project to clean up Category:Pages using infoboxes with thumbnail images. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this: |image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]], instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do: |image=SomeImage.jpg. There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks!! @Bri:They're appreciated. I just left you a message asking if you'd like to do the review on the Talk section of the live stub article. Talk:Laura_J._Alber It requires independent review as I have a conflict of interest. Thanks. BC1278 (talk) 16:15, 26 May 2017 (UTC)BC1278[reply]

@Bri: I understand -- and as a volunteer, however you choose to spend your time is up to you. But, please understand that because of the difficulty in getting independent reviewers, in the case of some subjects, it is difficult or even impossible to get a review, no matter the merits of the article So I turn away many people who ask for my help - and they just go ahead and edit without any disclosure of their conflict of interest. They also don't get the benefit of having someone like me help them who knows and follows Wikipedia policies. I see it constantly. The result is many lower quality article for Wikipedia, with abundant undisclosed COI. This is the exact opposite of the intended effect of the COI policy. Draft:Caryn Marooney[edit]

Hi there, Ed! I saw your request on Rosiestep's page for a review of this article. Maybe I can first make some informal comments here. Without going into too much detail, the following might help you along.

At the moment, the article deals above all with Marooney's career developments since 2005 and especially since 2011. There is very little on her early life. It would help to have more information about her birth, parents, childhood, education and marriage, if possible with dates. I see from here that she was 32 in 2010 so she must have been born around 1967/68. You'll find a snippet from the Brearley Bulletin here. You can probably also find out what she studied at Cornell and when she was there.

The account of her career is rather stereotyped: basically a set of dates and assignments. Try to fill it out with comment from others. I see, for example, there are a number of interviews, etc., where Maronney expands on her views. You could look through these for a more personalized account of her career.[1], [2], [3], etc. There's also more herel.

Finally, the article reads a bit like a cv and is over-promotional. Try to present it in a more neutral, biograpical style. But it's coming on quite well so keep at it. She deserves an article.--Ipigott (talk) 15:40, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Alivecor[edit]

Hi BC1278,

I wonder if a better way to write about the topic would be instead to write about the Kardiaband, rather than writing about Alivecor. Some of the references seem to take that approach.

Would you be amenable to that approach?

BakerStMD 17:25, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi user: Bakerstmd. Thanks for writing with your idea. I did think about a separate story for Kardiaband as a possibility at some point. Aside from the research to date, there is significant ongoing clinical research with Mayo, Cleveland Clinic and Columbia that will likely result in more peer reviewed academic articles and additional FDA and EU approvals for the device.

But in this case, Alivecor is not a single product company. Kardia Mobile is still an important product and widely used because it does not require an Apple Watch, just a smart phone. This has been the main product of the company for many years and also has a bunch of clinical research. Kardia Pro, for physicians to monitor multiple patients with devices, works with both Kardia Mobile and KardiaBand.

And while I don't mention this in the article, publications have mentioned that the company may negotiate to license its FDA approved diagnostic AI software to other device makers. I didn't include it yet because of WP:CRYSTAL This is separate from the ECG medical device.

So, this is a multiproduct company and we'd lose too much current and future information if we only wrote about KardiaBand.

There's also the business angle. They hired a well known CEO from Google and a prominent engineering team. And they have financing from well known companies and the Mayo Clinic. All this would be lost without an Alivecor article. The company qualifies as notable separate from KardiaBand press. It had many years of press and peer reviewed academic articles before KardiaBand.

I think that the best short term solution is to place a forward to Alivecor in case anyone searches KardiaBand. And if the research findings on KardiaBand become too involved for the Alivecor article, then someone can consider a separate article.

We might also put the Products section above the History if there is a concern that a patient doing research might not get to the most relevant information quickly enough.

There is already a review going on with another editor, on the Talk page, so I'd suggest consolidating this discussion there. I will copy and paste it. ----BC1278

Your revision of a COI edit request on the Letgo talk page[edit]

Hello BC1278. I noticed your attempt to fix your ping in this edit. That method does not work. The notifications system only informs a user when you link their username in the same saved edit as you successfully sign your post. A ping cannot be fixed in a later edit by adding a signature you forgot, by fixing your botched signature, or by fixing the user name link. Instead, you have to link the user name and successfully sign in a manner that the software parses as a new line of text. Help:Fixing failed pings has more information about the issues involved and provides suggested methods to successfully perform the fix. Regards,  Spintendo  08:30, 25 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback[edit]

Hello - It seems you have the rollback user right icon on your user page, but you currently do not and have never had the rollback user right. Is there any reason for this? Thanks! Eteethan (talk) 08:44, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Eteethan: No idea. I didn’t place it there. You could go through the page history to see who did. Feel free to remove it, Cheers. BC1278 (talk) 08:49, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@BC1278: So weird. Honestly not gonna go down that rabbit hole haha - so I've just removed it. Thanks :) Eteethan (talk) 08:53, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
