Frankie Muniz[edit]

Hello, Thanks for texting me. Muniz has competed as a racing driver since 2007. He is even in the ARCA Menards Series 2023. Isn't it wrong that his only career described in the introduction is acting? I I hope it answers my question.

Great weekend, by Antonia from Portugal. Tom O'Meara (talk) 22:48, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Tom O'Meara: Hi Antonia, and thanks for reaching out. The issue is that yes, while Muniz has competed both in the past and presently, the vast majority of reliable sources do not describe him as a "racing driver". Per MOS:ROLEBIO, we should only describe the subject by how the sources describe him, and give due WP:WEIGHT to the fact that he has been an actor for most of his adult life, and a racing driver for only 3 years, of which they are non-consecutive. Also, speaking as a fairly hardcore racing fan, I can tell you that both Formula Atlantic and ARCA Menards Series are low-level series occupied primarily by either non-professional or junior drivers and likely plays a part as to why most sources aren't describing Muniz as a racing driver yet.
Again, thanks for writing to me and I hope you understand where I am coming from. Good weekend to you as well. ― "Ghost of Dan Gurney" (talk)  15:34, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! NASCAR fan here. I would like to inform you that Muniz has stated he will be going full-time to a top-level NASCAR series in 2024, possibly the NASCAR Xfinity Series. While for now he isn't a "professional" race car driver, he will be in the near future, and as such, the line "...and professional stock car racing driver" should be added once that move to NASCAR is made. Because of his move there, there will most likely be more articles from large publishers detailing his career as a race car driver. Even Muniz himself clarified that he WANTS to be known as a race car driver. I hope you understood my reply, thank you! FoxX 07 (talk) 17:22, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@FoxX 07: Hi and welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for reaching out. May I request that you read up on Wikipedia policy and/or guidelines regarding CRYSTAL balls, and WP:ABOUTSELF?
Firstly, I don't see that any reliable sources are confirming Frankie's plans for 2024 yet. The only hits I'm getting on Google are from fan blogs such as Beyond the Flag, which are not reliable sources.
It also doesn't matter what the subject of the article "wants" to be known as. Wikipedia is to be a reflection of what reliable sources say and they still primarily refer to Frankie as an actor. ― "Ghost of Dan Gurney" (talk)  18:19, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I'm back! I would just like to inform you that Muniz will attempt to make his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut at Daytona in a couple of weeks. I think it is safe to say that he is officially a "stock car racing driver" now. Is it okay if I add it to the heading? FoxX 07 (talk) 21:48, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also, you need to address the thread about you here at ANI. Making these kinds of posts like that one you did here is good and is something you should do on the talk page of an article before you make a change like you did at Melody Thornton. ― "Ghost of Dan Gurney" (talk)  15:50, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation[edit]

Hello GhostOfDanGurney, we need experienced volunteers.
  • New Page Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles. We could use a few extra hands on deck if you think you can help.
  • Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; Wikipedia needs experienced users to perform this task and there are precious few with the appropriate skills. Even a couple reviews a day can make a huge difference.
  • Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision (if it looks daunting, don't worry, it basically boils down to checking CSD, notability, and title). If this looks like something that you can do, please consider joining us.
  • If you would like to join the project and help out, please see the granting conditions. You can apply for the user-right HERE.
  • If you have questions, please feel free to drop a message at the reviewer's discussion board.
  • Cheers, and hope to see you around.
