How to move/rename a page

You can usually move a page to a new title by clicking on the move tab at the top of the page. This preserves the edit history by transferring the edit history along with the page move. The talk page, will be moved as well, if you check the box requesting that.

When a page is moved, a redirect is automatically created at the old location. Please fix any double redirects that result. Use the "what links here" link in the left hand column of any page to find the double redirects so you can edit them and point them to the new page name.

Moving a page in this way is not possible in some cases, such as when a page other than a fresh redirect exists at the destination, or when the page is move protected, but you can ask for help at Wikipedia:Requested moves.

Please do not "cut and paste" to move the text to its new location, because this leaves the page history behind. Thank you.

To add this auto-updating template to your user page, use {{totd}}

(I have relocated these very precious kindnesses from others to the top of my talkpage, so they will never be lost or forgotten. I am very grateful for each one.)

You deserve this for your herculean efforts to improve Biblical criticism and respond to the comments at its recent FAC. As Gog mentioned in the closing note, with some additional work it will have a good chance at passing next time around. {{u|Sdkb}}talk 05:04, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar
Thank you Jenhawk777 for the message that you left on Gerda's page for me. Truly, the volunteers of these huge projects like WP, LibriVox, DP cannot go the extra mile without people like Gerda and you, who inject fresh energy into the volunteers. The kind words are our only salary, and fortunately we all can pay each other a lot. :) Qapisce (talk) 10:57, 21 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A superior barnstar for you![edit]

The Order of the Superior Scribe of Wikipedia
For all the time and effort you have put in — across thousands of edits — to markedly improve numerous articles related to Christianity all these years. The magnitude of the positive impact you have had with regard to Wikipedia's coverage of academic topics related to Christianity is unprecedented; I cannot think of any other editor who has worked so rigorously and improved those topics to the extent that you have. You are a phenomenal editor and your work is awe-inspiring. Thank you for all that you do! — The Most Comfortable Chair 21:12, 1 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This has touched me so deeply I almost cried. Thank you so, so very much. Jenhawk777 (talk) 21:29, 1 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Referencing of Conversion to Christianity[edit]

A cookie for your work, not sure how much more I can help you with referencing now :).

The content now reads as a proper Wikipedia article as well. -- LCU ActivelyDisinterested transmissions °co-ords° 10:50, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ActivelyDisinterested Bless you! Thank you! I so deeply appreciate you and all your work. You are still the one I will reach out to when I have a problem, but you have taught me a lot, and this article was just too much to ask someone else to do for me. I would have enjoyed banging my head against a wall more, but hey, I followed your example and got it done. I put it up for peer review and others suggested adding back a theology section which I am beginning work on today. Thank you again. You are a great blessing. IAN McSHANE TALKS ABOUT LOVEJOY. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 14:36, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I deeply admire Ian McShane's talent. I thought he was under appreciated in America. He makes it look so natural that it's hard to tell he's acting - he just seems to be being himself - but that's really the epitome of good acting isn't it? He's brilliant. Thank you for this! Jenhawk777 (talk) 20:38, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Eric: Here, you forgot your meat yesterday.

March music[edit]

I uploaded vacation pics (from back home), and I listen to Bach's St John Passion today, - 300 years after it was first performed. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:54, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My church did an Easter cantata that included Bach's "Oh Sacred Head now Wounded" this year. It always makes me cry. I love Bach. Happy Easter! Jenhawk777 (talk) 19:46, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Understand. I always cry when the orchestra begins the opening of the St Matthew Passion. - Two days later in time, Bach music for Easter! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:44, 31 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And that includes all the reasons why I love you. Jenhawk777 (talk) 21:16, 31 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from SandhuuSingh (03:54, 7 April 2024)[edit]

Hi, one question How do you create something? --SandhuuSingh (talk) 03:54, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Do you mean how do you create your first article or do you mean how do you write anything anywhere? To write something, first you must have something worth writing, and that begins with good research in secondary sources. Click on edit source at the top of whatever you are editing, write and cite your sources, then press publish. Before writing anything though I suggest reading: Contributing is easy: see how to edit a page. For a quick summary on participating, see contributing to Wikipedia, and for a friendly tutorial, see our introduction. For a listing of introductions and tutorials by topic, see getting started. The Simplified Manual of Style and Cheatsheet can remind you of basic wiki markup.
Be bold in improving articles! When adding facts, please provide references so others may verify them. If you are affiliated with the article subject, please see our conflict of interest guideline. Jenhawk777 (talk) 04:59, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from MatteoSilver (09:24, 11 April 2024)[edit]

Hello, I’m new to editing. Is it okay to be done from a phone or tablet? I don’t typically use a computer. --MatteoSilver (talk) 09:24, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@MatteoSilver Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! Yes, it's ok, though depending on how you do it, things may look different from when you work with a laptop. User:Cullen328/Smartphone editing may have something you find useful. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 18:32, 14 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello[edit]

You may or may not find this discussion interesting: Wikipedia:Fringe_theories/Noticeboard#Methuselah it's not really in the right place and will probably not "decide" anything by itself, but it's a recurring topic for some articles you've heard of. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 18:27, 14 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Lim Ban Siew (15:11, 18 April 2024)[edit]

how can i start to personal information ? --Lim Ban Siew (talk) 15:11, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not do that on Wikipedia. This is not a social platform, and there are those who will abuse and misuse that information. This is an encyclopedia published by those who do research and write what amounts to Master's level research papers. Protect your work and yourself by keeping all personal information personal. Jenhawk777 (talk) 17:27, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Mitsoukorussie (19:22, 22 April 2024)[edit]

Hi, I believe I provided valid reasons for editing the Stewart Shining article, but another editor removed my edits without verifying why they were edited in the first place. I believe this was an aggressive move by him. Today, I entered entries under the "talk" section of "Stewart Shining," as well as the "Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara," before adding any changes. Am I going about this correct way? Can I ask another editor to help me verify my edits and make the changes? --Mitsoukorussie (talk) 19:22, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from ZH09 (21:14, 22 April 2024)[edit]

I love writing about technology and famous people. I am not experienced per se, but I have written mini-articles for my club. --ZH09 (talk) 21:14, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
