Margaret Sanger - Assume Good Faith[edit]

Information icon Please remember to assume good faith when dealing with other editors. Thank you. DocZach (talk) 07:40, 8 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I think that my edit summaries & my comments on talk pages (see Special:Contributions/Peaceray) demonstrate that I do assume good faith, & that any warnings I make are solidly based on policies & guidelines.
If anyone reading this is wondering what prompted this editor to post this notice on my talk page, I would direct them to the discussion at Talk:Margaret Sanger#Eugenics should be mentioned in the very beginning of the article's lead; neutrality dispute. & specifically my comment here. Invitation to join New pages patrol[edit]

Hello Peaceray!

  • The New Pages Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles needing review. We could use a few extra hands to help.
  • We think that someone with your activity and experience is very likely to meet the guidelines for granting.
  • Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time, but it requires a strong understanding of Wikipedia’s CSD policy and notability guidelines.
  • Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision, and feel free to post on the project talk page with questions.
  • If patrolling new pages is something you'd be willing to help out with, please consider applying here.

Thank you for your consideration. We hope to see you around!

Translate from another Wikipedia pages (es and fr)[edit]

Hi, I would like to contribute this time by translating (making some modifications and adjustments) the Wikipedia page (actually in Spanish and French) of Spanish born author, photographer and former journalist Ruth Baza, who is also on the news worldwide for a couple of months, due to a dramatic event she lived in the act of service as one of the youngest and more respected former correspondent, aged 23, ill but strong and determined, in 1995, with a celebrity in Paris after interviewing this man for one of the most important film mags of Spain, Cinemania. According to WOMEN PRESS FREEDOM and The Coalition of Women in Journalism: "Ruth Baza has bravely come forward with her allegations against Gérard Depardieu. Her courage in speaking out about a rape that allegedly occurred nearly 30 years ago is not only commendable but also essential in the ongoing fight against sexual violence and the culture of silence in the media and entertainment industries. We believe that Ruth Baza's decision to file a criminal complaint, despite the significant passage of time and the legal hurdles, is an important step towards achieving justice, not just for herself but for all survivors of sexual assault who have felt powerless against influential figures. By coming forward, Baza has reignited critical conversations about sexism within the film industry, particularly in France, where recent reports have shed light on deeply ingrained misogynistic attitudes." This is an important step and a stormn in France and the Film Industry. Her career is very interesting as she belongs to the Generation X as author of a book that marked a generation, several stories, her unique way of writing ancd making interviews to personalities worldwide, and also her work as a photographer (mostly rock and grunge icons), who exhibited last year in Chicago with the best female music photographers of the world courtesy of Courtney Love, and more. I will probably need help.... Or if any of you, editors want to translate it or make your own version based on the existing pages and the hundreds references, I will be pleased to help as I have done and do when I have time to improve pages as an amateur editor, on people of interest who has worked hard to achieve great things, a Cultural legacy that can´t be lost, History. Thank you in advance for your time and help. Sylvie Siminovich (talk) 23:54, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Sylvie Siminovich: A lot to respond to here.
I wish I could devote the time to help you with this, but I am currently preparing for this event, plus a trip abroad, a camp the month after, & other activities. I can stop by some of the time to do some WP:Wikignome activities, which is what I generally do with my articles on my watch list. Peaceray (talk) 02:44, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Obsolete tags in the above message[edit]

I don't know if you wrote the above message or just delivered it, but it contains two sets of obsolete center tags that were delivered to over 500 User talk pages. Unfortunately, nothing is currently preventing this mass error distribution from happening. I have, ever hopeful, submitted T358818 as a feature request. If you could use modern syntax in future messages, that would be helpful. If you save a draft message, you can check "Page information" for any Linter errors. I'm happy to help fix any errors in draft messages that you or your colleagues are creating. – Jonesey95 (talk) 23:56, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Jonesey95: I had tried to figure out some of those obsolete tags before sending those out. I believe I was having some problems with centering some images & eventually gave up in the interest of expdediency ("don't let perfection be the enemy of the good"), because after working a couple of hours on that message, I needed to move on to an immediate non-wikipedia tasks. I would have spent more time with it had I been able. Next time I will save a copy in my sandbox & will check ""Page information" for any Linter errors. Peaceray (talk) 00:04, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The non-obsolete ways of centering do not always work as well as the old center tags, unfortunately. It would be great if there were a foolproof drop-in replacement every time, but there is not. Feel free to ping me for help any time. – Jonesey95 (talk) 01:58, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK, thank you for your help!
