• Following a motion, the Arbitration Committee adopted a new enforcement restriction on January 4, 2024, wherein the Committee may apply the 'Reliable source consensus-required restriction' to specified topic areas.
• Community feedback is requested for a draft to replace the "Information for administrators processing requests" section at WP:AE.

Miscellaneous

• Voting in the 2024 Steward elections will begin on 06 February 2024, 14:00 (UTC) and end on 27 February 2024, 14:00 (UTC). The confirmation process of current stewards is being held in parallel. You can automatically check your eligibility to vote.
• A vote to ratify the charter for the Universal Code of Conduct Coordinating Committee (U4C) is open till 2 February 2024, 23:59:59 (UTC) via Secure Poll. All eligible voters within the Wikimedia community have the opportunity to either support or oppose the adoption of the U4C Charter and share their reasons. • Community Tech has made some preliminary decisions about the future of the Community Wishlist Survey. In summary, they aim to develop a new, continuous intake system for community technical requests that improves prioritization, resource allocation, and communication regarding wishes. Read more

I am surprised by your notability tag. The book mentioned is not published by the diocese. I have restored some pictures that were moved to another articles, as that editor confused civil parishes with medieval church parishes. The Banner talk 00:22, 6 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello The Banner! I only tagged, did not take any stronger action, because I think it has potential, and it is one way of covering an important district of Ireland. I also tagged another such parish. As I have learned over the years, individual church parishes do not easily qualify for articles in their own right, and this article does not yet state why it is so notable. But I believe that this one could rise to the needed level, and as you say, the book in question is independent (albeit that publisher has done multiple church-related projects, as I recall). I think with a bit of expansion, a clear opening wording, and perhaps some cross-referencing as to types of parish, it should be fine. I do believe that within reason, more articles is the way to go. Ballynacally-Lissycasey (parish) was the other.

My surprise is mainly caused by the fact that I have seen many geo-stubs with less info or pictures. I have to finish the series of geo-stubs and then can go beyond that. Soon I will upload the picture of another ruin and add it to Ballyvaughan (I missed another ruin that I would have found when I had turned around.) I am regaining my strength to do so now another user is blocked indef. Working on Catholic parishes is not so funny when you have someone breathing in your neck who has a clear anti-Catholic stance. Absolutely there are - but there is specific provision for geographic entities (some smaller ones have great articles, some are very marginal), but religious ones have only the GNG, so need to assert something. I know because I also once had ideas about parishes (in Dublin) and got some push back. But I have no issue myself, and am happy to pull the tag, and I am sure that you will take this forward well.

As a fellow editor in the Irish space, I've seen you around over many years, and am glad you're still energetically beavering away. I did not know about someone with an anti-Catholic bias, but glad to hear that that has been sorted. SeoR (talk) 11:48, 6 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
