Thank you Mushroom for the welcome.

Thanks for your help. -- Horkana (talk) 15:09, 17 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 20:06, 17 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Universal Monsters[edit]

Thanks for the Barnstar, Theo!! The article was fun. Have a great holiday season XD --Diannaa (talk) 01:19, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

you too.

Minnows[edit]

On many articles you have piped links to minnows so they redirect to Leuciscinae. Why??? I authored a number of those articles, and the correct link is to minnow, a general term that applies to any number of small fish used as bait fish. The article on Leuciscinae is obscure and unhelpful for the general reader. It doesn't even bother to mention the common names for minnows, and adds nothing useful to what was offered on the minnow page. I have added a clarification to the page. Please revert your redirects. --Epipelagic (talk) 23:33, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for that. I have rejigged minnow as an article, so it is no longer a disambiguation page. --Epipelagic (talk) 00:44, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ab Initio Constitution[edit]

I don't know if you linked Ab Initio in Constitution to point to a company on purpose, or if it was an accident. If an accident, please be aware that you did it; if on purpose, please don't. It was right before (and I've restored it). Best wishes Pol098 (talk) 16:43, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

ab initio → Ab initio[edit]

Could you explain this edit? I have reverted it, but I may be missing something... --Edcolins (talk) 19:48, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

And this one also? --Edcolins (talk) 19:51, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yet another one. --Edcolins (talk) 19:53, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your message on my talk page, and for all the good work. Happy editing! --Edcolins (talk) 09:43, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Disam leaderboard[edit]

Well WikiCleaner helps. It lets you do edits really fast. And secondly, I tend to look at the bottom of the disam list to do my disams. Why? Because the ones high on the list are high for a reason, i.e. they are very difficult. Ones in the 3 and 400s tend to be easier. --User:Woohookitty Disamming fool! 01:01, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sons of Anarchy[edit]

Hi, I'd eventually like to create a page for every Sons of Anarchy episode, but right now I think we should create character pages for:

However, SOA Season 2 has not yet aired in the UK (where I live), and therefore I have no knowledge of their character biographies. If they are indeed notable characters, I'd appreciate it if you could create pages for them. When Season 2 airs here, I will certainly help out. - WölffReik (talk · contribs) 22:, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Well, if their character arcs don't expand much in Season 2, then perhaps you're right, and pages on them would be pointless. - WölffReik (talk · contribs) 20:, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

Canvassing[edit]

Hi Seashorewiki, I reported the above Ip on the ANI page. The user above removed some sourced lines from one of the House episode pages I edit as well, when I cited another source he renamed the section as trivia then tagged it as miscellaneous with a edit message that it will be removed in a month. If you want to comment on his position, you can leave a comment on the ANI page section about the IP user above. I think we have something in common here and I support your position if it helps, one anon IP user should not get to decide what other people contribute especially if its sourced. Thanks --Theo10011 (talk) 17:28, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

Before you beginning slinging more false accusations, let me point out that the above is not a policy violation, not yet anyway. You should know that decisions about what is acceptable on Wikipedia are not determined by majority rule. They are determined by existing policy, or consensus (consensus is not the same as majority: see WP:CON). You should also know that unilaterally contacting other editors to try to sway consensus can be a policy violation. Read WP:CANVAS. I did not violate any policy. Unsourced trivia should be removed, and the items in trivia sections should eventually be moved out of trivia sections and into the other parts of the article. If you wish to change that standard on Wikipedia, the way to do it is to raise the issue at WT:TRIV or another appropriate policy forum rather than encouraging edit warring on existing articles. Thank you. 71.77.21.198 (talk) 18:43, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
"you can cite guidelines and policy all you want, but there applicability and usage differs case to case: Of course I can cite guidelines and policy. Wikipedia operates according to guidelines and policy. If you want to make an exception for a particular article, or if you want to change a general policy, do it on the appropriate forum, which is not WP:ANI. Your attempt to address a policy issue at WP:ANI is entirely inappropriate, and encouraging that sort of process of false accusation, if it continues, will be considered a policy violation. 71.77.21.198 (talk) 19:08, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have no intention of arguing endlessly with you over my following of policy, or with your attempts portray my behavior as inappropriate. So until you get a consensus for the article in question, or you get a change in policy, this is my final communication with you unless you decide to escalate this by violating policy yourself. 71.77.21.198 (talk) 19:11, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Message reply[edit]

Hi Theo10011. Thanks for the message you left on my talk page. Indeed, it's a little difficult to source everything in an article, especially if it's in a Trivia or Cultural References section. Most, if not all of the information therein has probably been contributed by someone who just wanted to add a little information - that they knew - about the topic. Obviously, you can't source most of such information; that's why it's in a Trivia section. For example, if someone is noting that a particular song was played, unless you were on the production team, you probably couldn't define a source; it is what it is. And even if you were on the production team, what source would you give? Me? Such items may well be wrong, but they're probably right as someone took the time to add their personal knowledge to the topic. I don't see why Trivia information needs to be sourced; most times it can't be. And if someone wanted to take the time, they could track down the song in question just to confirm that the trivia item is correct. And if it is, it still can't be sourced. As I said, it is what it is. The episode synopsis (i.e. the main plot) is not sourced. It's not confirmed. It's just someone bothering to spend the time to share some information with others. If one wanted to confirm the information, one could watch the episode and I'm sure everyone would write something slightly different as the Plot. That doesn't mean it's wrong. And again, it's not sourced. Regards, Seashorewiki (talk) 04:52, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Theo10011. Thanks for the reply. Please excuse me if you thought I was arguing with you. In no way was that my intent. I was merely having an *open discussion*, if you will. I'm very much in agreement with your position and see little issue with minor trivia associated with a subject that someone has bothered to add - hopefully - for the benefit of others. Whether the trivia is right or wrong (but mostly right, I would suggest) is really of little importance; that's why it's called Trivia. I don't think anyone will be declaring war based on such information. Then again, you never know. ;-). Seashorewiki (talk) 03:55, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Copyedit Backlog Elimination Drive[edit]

Hi, as a member of the Guild of Copy Editors you're hereby notified of and invited to participate in the WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Backlog elimination drives/May 2010. Please help us eliminate the 8,000+ copyedit backlog! Participating editors will receive barnstars and other awards, according to their level of participation. ɳorɑfʈ Talk! 00:21, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hold On...[edit]

The drive doesn't start until May 1...unfortunately the ones you've done so far won't be counted. Also, you need to post your word counts. Please read the entire page on the elimination drive page, as it includes all the directions. Thank you! ɳorɑfʈ Talk! 13:20, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I overlooked the start date for the drive, I was just getting familiar with it. Thanks for pointing it out, I still didn't understand how to note an article's word count before and after editing it without using a script. Thanks again.--Theo10011 (talk) 13:32, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If you don't add the page size script to your .js file of choice (which I can walk you through if you need), then you'll have to do it manually by cut and pasting the text into MS Word or OpenOffice or something, and then using its word count function. ɳorɑfʈ Talk! 15:27, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Don't forget to mark your entries from the Requests page[edit]

On behalf of the coordinator of the WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors Backlog elimination drive for May 2010, ɳorɑfʈ Talk!, I would like to thank you for your active participation in the Drive.

I am writing to inform you that we have introduced additional Guild of Copy Editors' Gold Star Awards for the drive.

To qualify, you will need to add an asterisk to all the full copyedits you have completed from the Requests page. More information can be found in the awards section of the Drive. If you have any questions, please post them to the Drive's talk page.

Once again, thank you for participating, and we look forward to a meaningful drop in the numbers due to your hard work and efforts.

Barnstar[edit]

The Modest Barnstar
For your copyediting efforts during the May 2010 Guild of Copy Editors Backlog Elimination Drive, editing 7 articles of a combined total of 2410 words, I hereby award you this Modest Barnstar. Congratulations and thank you for all your work! ɳorɑfʈ Talk! 14:45, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Grab some glory, and a barnstar[edit]

Hi, I'd like to invite you to participate in the Guild of Copy Editors July 2010 Backlog Elimination Drive. In May, about 30 editors helped remove the {{copyedit}} tag from 1175 articles. The backlog is still over 7500 articles, and extends back to the beginning of 2008! We really need your help to reduce it. Copyediting just a couple articles can qualify you for a barnstar. Serious copyeditors can win prestigious and exclusive rewards. See the event page for more information. And thanks for your consideration. ɳorɑfʈ Talk! 15:38, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Volleyball players[edit]

I have seen that you edited some volleyball articles. Some players articles, most of them looks outdated. I would like to improve players by country. Could you please choose a country to contribute with? Please take a look on Yekaterina Gamova, Hélia Souza, Serena Ortolani and Kenia Carcaces for a model to follow. Please can you please improve some volleyball players with infobox and some addons? References are very important. Let me know. Oscar987 22:57, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, I have no knowledge of Volleyball. Any edits I made related to Volleyball articles were probably incidental, they might have been edited for the copy edit elimination drive or Disambiguation correction.Theo10011 (talk) 01:05, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Siebot[edit]

It's already in this week's News and Notes; whilst it could be moved, N&N's In brief section is not chokka-block yet, so I suspect it's best off their for the moment. But yes, certainly a valid news item. - Jarry1250 [Humorous? Discuss.] 11:45, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Signpost Sister article[edit]

Hi Theo: there are lots of inline comments for you. Thanks. Tony (talk) 14:48, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, not blaming anyone. That kind of page is really hard to write: better you than me. But it's easier to poke at when one wasn't close to the original text. I still think readers (like me) should know what everything means; so you can help us by explaining what those terms I've queried really mean in simple English (perhaps just a few words, or substituting them with familiar words). The fact that the terms are used in the document doesn't matter: you can help all of our readers to engage with it here at the Signpost first. Most people, I assume, will not yet have participated. Tony (talk) 15:07, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and follow up on social campaigns.[edit]

Moved to the relevant talk page on Meta.

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of The Next War (poem), and it appears to include material copied directly from http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/The_Next_War.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. You're available?[edit]

Any ideas for other "In the news" stories? There's one meaty one there, but not much else. Tony (talk) 01:27, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Theo. As it happened, things seem to have come together. But it's all two days late. I'm trying to encourage them to list the possible stories (with external links, etc) in the newsroom table, by Thursday/Friday. That way, journalists, including yourself, could come along and take those stories. By Sunday, we'd have a good draft, with only late-breaking and highly significant stories to be added. I'll see if I can goad them into it in the coming week. Are you around? Tony (talk) 10:55, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

House episodes[edit]

Thanks for your comments about TenPoundHammer's unilateral and undiscussed action to remove virtually all episode articles. You might note that he/she has removed some with proper sourcing. I have reverted some of those, but I don't intend to get into an edit war. If I had the time I would add sources and restore them. I may work on that a bit at a time. Thanks again. Cresix (talk) 15:55, 18 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am opening up discussion on article talk pages (which are intact even after a redirect). You can find them in my edit history. Thanks. Cresix (talk) 18:42, 18 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

TV.com[edit]

If TV.com has been used in other articles, then it shouldn't be there either. All the content on that site is user submitted, much like IMDb. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Otters want attention) 19:11, 18 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Fair enough. I've explained on the talk pages why I didn't think the few sources were reliable/sufficient/whatever. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Otters want attention) 19:17, 18 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Userpage design[edit]

Hiya. I'll be happy to. Please see my fees for doing a design, and leave the diffs here. Also please give me some guidance as to what you'd like. → ROUX  23:18, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I am very ok with the fees (Is there room to haggle? ;) just kidding), I'll do a GA article review in your name. As for some guidance, I really like the re-design you did for mono and J and your page of course, I really like clean designs which you seem to specialize in, Just two things- not crazy about image overlay outside the userspace like on the toolbar or the logo and secondly, I'm not a fan of bright colors and boundaries that pop out. Besides those, please feel free to try anything, looking forward to what you come up with. I think its a great idea. Thanks again for doing this. Theo10011 (talk) 23:32, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Cool beans. No need to use {{tb}}, I'm watching. In terms of a GAN, I'd prefer if possible that it be something outside my sphere (royalty, heraldry, food & cooking). Cheers. → ROUX  23:43, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Kewl, will look into something outside your sphere to review, hopefully by this weekend. Take care. Theo10011 (talk) 23:47, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

BTW, I love the color-mutating script on your user page and your signature symbol. Always looks classy and never pops out. Kudos. Theo10011 (talk) 23:55, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In case you are watching this page Roux, I reviewed a GA article for you- Matt Selman, unfortunately I had to fail it. I just chose a page from one of the oldest pages needing a review from the backlog. Theo10011 (talk) 21:29, 16 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Awesome. I'll have something for you a bit later. → ROUX  02:54, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Haven't forgotten; User:Theo10011/u will have it. → ROUX  05:06, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's started. You can see where it's going, I just need to populate your information. Could you make this easier for me by deleting from your userpage everything you don't really really want included? Ta. → ROUX  05:45, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Will do Roux....... I have to say I realllyyyy love where this design is going. Can't wait to see the main page, Peace. Theo10011 (talk) 18:36, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done, Cleaned up the main page a bit, moved all the userboxes in one collapsible box. I am not attached to anything on that page, so feel free to delete anything that gets in your way(you can delete all the content on the main page if it gets in your way), I can add anything I need later. Thanks again. Theo10011 (talk) 19:21, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Roux, I took some initiative and moved the sub-page to the main page, I was waiting for you to populate it but just couldn't wait to see how it looks. I absolutely love it......I am going to use the part of the header on Meta too, if its alright. This was really great, professional design work, you should be doing this for a living (in case you don't ;). Take care and Thanks again Roux, you're awesome.Theo10011 (talk) 14:20, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, sorry, I got distracted. By all means use it on Meta. And no, I'm not a designer, though my former career involved a lot of intersection with those who were. You're welcome! → ROUX  14:28, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Signpost help[edit]

Hey Theo, I'm contacting you and TheDJ (as designated backups who have contributed recently) in response to my forthcoming unavailability for the Signpost Tech report. I hope to be able to write much of this week's report, but I'm not around on Monday, so the report may well need updating for breaking news and/ or polishing. Next week's issue will be similar, but I won't be around on the Sunday either. The issue in a fortnight I may miss completely, or I may only be able to contribute very late in the day. Your help with any of these issues would be very much appreciated. I do have a few useful links: the userbox on my userpage turns into a useful preload link when the next issue hasn't been started yet (it does all the dates and whatnot for you); [1] is a list of the bugs *closed* as fixed in the last 7 days (you need to be careful); [2] is of course the blogosphere; [3] is the server admin log; [4] foundation-l; [5] wikitech-l; [6] is our sister project's take on things. I hope that helps, and once again, thanks for any help you can provide. - Jarry1250 [Who? Discuss.] 17:03, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Your welcome. I think the table probably needs a column that indicates why it is considered a landmark. The other option would be to use the references to source the landmark status. It is much easier to add columns and adjust formatting before the table gets too large. Vegaswikian (talk) 00:08, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you![edit]

Thank you for your support at my RfA last week. I'll do everything I can to live up to your expectations and if you ever need help from a janitor please feel free to drop me a line! See you around at SM! PanydThe muffin is not subtle 22:04, 29 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your rollback request[edit]

Hello Theo10011, I have granted rollback rights to your account in accordance with your request. Please be aware that rollback should be used to revert vandalism/spam/blatantly unconstructive edits, and that using it to revert anything else (such as by revert-warring or reverting edits you disagree with) can lead to it being removed from your account...sometimes without any warning, depending on the admin who becomes aware of any misuse. If you think an edit should require a reason for reverting, then don't use rollback and instead, use a manual edit summary. For practice, you may wish to see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback. Good luck. Acalamari 21:58, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Acalamari. I'll be careful using Rollback rights. Thanks. Theo10011 (talk) 22:00, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewer granted[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't grant you status nor change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Dabomb87 (talk) 22:55, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of season one episode articles of House for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the articles Paternity (House), Occam's Razor (House), Maternity (House), Damned If You Do, The Socratic Method (House), Fidelity (House), Poison (House), DNR (House), Histories (House), Detox (House), Sports Medicine (House), Cursed (House), Control (House), Mob Rules (House), Heavy (House), Role Model (House), Babies & Bathwater, Kids (House), Love Hurts (House) and Honeymoon (House) are suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Paternity (House) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Cresix (talk) 17:18, 5 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Carat Security Group page hatnote[edit]

Dear User Theo1011: I refer you here to the following recent dialogue over the Carat Security Group article with Administrator Ponyo: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Ponyo#Carat_Security_Group_page_deletion. A good deal of effort was put into creating and sourcing this new article. There are tens of thousands of pages at Wikipedia better deserving such a hatnote. I have no connection with Carat Security. I am removing it in good faith, since you evidently were unaware of the above. Yours, Wikiuser100 (talk) 12:29, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I tagged the page for notability. The discussion you linked to is about a CSD tag by another recent changes patroller. These are two very different things. The tag only disputes its notability and asks other editors to help establish it with better 3rd part sources- links, references, etc.(linked.in profile and a company's own website does not count as either). I hope you realize it is not a discussion for deletion just a note to improve and gauge its importance. Theo10011 (talk) 14:10, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, understand difference. Thanks for your response. Wikiuser100 (talk) 19:31, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Theo10011. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Al-kamal Higher Secondary College, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A7 does not apply to schools. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 04:59, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

GOCE drive newsletter[edit]

Invitation from the Guild of Copy Editors

The Guild of Copy Editors invites you to participate in their September 2011 Backlog elimination drive, a month-long effort to reduce the size of the copy editing backlog. The drive will begin on September 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and will end on September 30 at 23:59 (UTC). We will be tracking the number of 2010 articles in the backlog, as we want to copy edit as many of those as possible. Please consider copy editing an article that was tagged in 2010. Barnstars will be given to anyone who edits more than 4,000 words, with special awards for the top 5 in the categories "Number of articles", "Number of words", and "Number of articles of over 5,000 words". See you at the drive! – Your drive coordinators: Diannaa, Chaosdruid, The Utahraptor, Slon02, and SMasters.

Wikimedia Stories Project[edit]

Hello,

My name is Victor Grigas, and I'm a storyteller at the Wikimedia foundation. We're telling stories of Wikipedia users, editors, donors, programmers and staff to paint a picture of who uses Wikipedia - for the 2011 fundraiser.

I am in the process of planning a trip to India to gather stories from Indian Wikipedians in face-to-face interviews (possibly on video).

My primary goal is to conduct 15-20 interviews, and hopefully enough of my interviews will make compelling stories that will effectively solicit donations from the public. These stories may also be used for other communication purposes by the foundation.

I found your userpage on a list of prolific Wikipedians and thought I’d reach out to you. Prolific editing is always a good story to tell!

If you are interested in participating, please contact me via my email:

vgrigas@wikimedia.org

Thank you for your time!

Victor

About me: I have been a Wikipedia editor since 2005, and have a background in film, video and audio. My userpage can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Victorgrigas

Signpost[edit]

Hi. Regarding your Signpost post, we have people writing about governance issues, but I was wondering if you'd like to do "In the news"? We don't have a regular writer there currently, and it'd be great to reactivate that section. Regards, Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 07:45, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Need help with editor on Slashdot[edit]

This editor is what I can only describe as awkward. Of course, it may be me who is awkward, who knows. I don't wish to be pejorative but given your offer of help, it is only polite to warn you. I chose you from Wikipedia:WikiProject_Internet_culture as your editing history seemed to indicate some experience with awkward users.

He was abusive to a Third Opinion volunteer: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk%3ASlashdot&diff=537883669&oldid=537823572&xxAutoPagerimmedialate-load-count=3 Also see: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Wiki.Tango.Foxtrot&action=history

Relevant Talk section: Talk:Slashdot#WP:BOLD_readability_changes_to_lead

There have been only 11 edits since my initial edit, so it's not too much to follow. WykiP (talk) 16:47, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. I already commented there, though I doubt you chose my name from the Wikiproject listing, I'm happy to help if I can. Happy editing! Theo10011 (talk) 22:04, 26 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
"though I doubt you chose my name from the Wikiproject listing"
Really? You're the third I asked. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:FeralOink
Wish I'd asked you first, of course. Thanks for contributing. The lead/lede business is a (actually his) red herring. The issues are more with his wikiquette (which you addressed) and whether he's reverting improved versions of the article. WykiP (talk) 03:45, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I see. Maybe I'm being unnecessarily suspicious. It was just an odd choice to look up someone randomly from a Wikiproject, especially for a new user but its prob. irrelevant. Yes, I did notice that user's etiquette being less than ideal, let's hope he reconsiders his attitude a bit. You seem to have an excellent grasp of the policies and general editing, I hope something like this doesn't deter you in any way. Regards. Theo10011 (talk) 05:08, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I don't really know what else to do. It was mentioned on WP:DR and after I botched up Third Opinion (WP:User_talk:WykiP), an editor pointed me at the Village Pump. There it was suggested that the only real way to deal with bad, stalling editors was to ask a Wikiproject volunteer. WykiP (talk) 09:29, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, that explains it. It's mostly about finding another user, people go through different ways of finding the right people here. Admins can always help but unless a user crosses a line, there's not a lot to do except avoid further escalation. As for this case, just relax. Let me know if that user follows up on any other occasion, I can try and reason but its best to just avoid certain people and find your own place here. Feel free to leave a message here, if you need help with anything else. Regards. Theo10011 (talk) 21:10, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Signpost exit poll[edit]

Dear Wikipedian, you recently voted in the ArbCom election. Your username, along with around 155 other usernames of your fellow Wikipedians, was randomly selected from the 2000+ Wikipedians who voted this year, with the help of one of the election-commissioners. If you are willing, could you please participate (at your option either on-wiki via userspace or off-wiki via email) in an exit poll, and answer some questions about how you decided amongst the ArbCom candidates?

If you decide to participate in this exit poll, the statistical results will be published in the Signpost, an online newspaper with over 1000 Wikipedians among the readership. There are about twelve questions, which have alphanumerical answers; it should take you a few minutes to complete the exit poll questionnaire, and will help improve Wikipedia by giving future candidates information about what you think is important. This is only an unofficial survey, and will have no impact on your actual vote during this election, nor in any future election.

All questions are individually optional, and this entire exit poll itself is also entirely optional, though if you choose not to participate, I would appreciate a brief reply indicating why you decided not to take part (see Question Zero). Thanks for being a Wikipedian

The questionnaire[edit]

Dear Wikipedian, please fill out these questions -- at your option via usertalk or via email, see Detailed Instructions at the end of the twelve questions -- by putting the appropriate answer in the blanks provided. If you decide not to answer a question (all questions are optional), please put the reason down: "undecided" / "private information" / "prefer not to answer" / "question is not well-posed" / "other: please specify". Although the Signpost cannot guarantee that complex answers can be processed for publication, it will help us improve future exit polls, if you give us comments about why you could not answer specific questions.

Detailed Instructions: you are welcome to answer these questions via usertalk (easiest), or via email (for a modicum of privacy).

how to submit your answers , estimated time required: 2 minutes
  • If you wish to answer via usertalk, go ahead and fill in the blanks by editing this subsection. Once you have completed the usertalk-based exit poll answers, click here to notify the Signpost copy-editor, leave a short usertalk note, and click save. The point of leaving the usertalk note, is to make sure your answers are processed and published.
  • If you wish to answer via email, create a new email to the Signpost column-editor by clicking Special:EmailUser/GamerPro64, and then paste the *plaintext* of the questions therein. Once you have completed the email-based exit poll answers, click here to notify the Signpost column-editor, leave a short usertalk note specifying the *time* you sent the email, and click save. The point of leaving the usertalk note, is to make sure your answers are processed and published (not stuck in the spam-folder).

Processing of responses will be performed in batches of ten, prior to publication in the Signpost. GamerPro64 will be processing the email-based answers, and will strive to maintain the privacy of your answers (as well as your email address and the associated IP address typically found in the email-headers), though of course as a volunteer effort, we cannot legally guarantee that GamerPro64 will have a system free from computer virii, we cannot legally guarantee that GamerPro64 will resist hypothetical bribes offered by the KGB/NSA/MI6 to reveal your secrets, and we cannot legally guarantee that GamerPro64 will make no mistakes. If you choose to answer on-wiki, your answers will be visible to other Wikipedians. If you choose to answer via email, your answers will be sent unencrypted over the internet, and we will do our best to protect your privacy, but unencrypted email is inherently an improper mechanism for doing so. Sorry!  :-)

We do promise to try hard, not to make any mistakes, in the processing and presentation of your answers. If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact column-editor GamerPro64, copy-editor 75.108.94.227, or copy-editor Ryk72. Thanks for reading, and thanks for helping Wikipedia. Thanks, but I will not be participating. GamerPro64, I am also curious if the fact that I voted is public? I would venture that some individuals might like that to be private. Anyway, good luck with the poll. Kind regards. Theo10011 (talk) 16:27, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
