Çemişgezek (Kurdish: Melkişî;[1] Armenian: Չմշկածագ (Chmshgadzak), romanized: Čmškacag[2]) is a municipality (belde) and seat of Çemişgezek District of Tunceli Province, Turkey.[3] The mayor is Levent Metin Yıldız (AKP).
The town had a population of 3,009 in 2021 and is populated by both Kurds and Turks.[4][5]
The town is divided into the neighborhoods of Çukur, Hacı Cami, Hamamatik, Kale, Mescit, Tepebaşı and Yenimahalle.[3]
Climate[edit]
Çemişgezek has a Mediterranean climate (Köppen: Csa)[6] with very hot, dry summers and chilly, frequently snowy winters.[7]
