The Central District of Darmian County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان درمیان) is in South Khorasan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Asadiyeh.[3]

History[edit]

After the 2016 National Census, Fakhrud Rural District was separated from Qohestan District, and Miyandasht Rural District from the Central District in the establishment of Miyandasht District. In addition, Nughab Rural District was established in the Central District, and Kushkak Rural District in Qohestan District.[4]

Demographics[edit]

Population[edit]

At the time of the 2006 census, the district's population was 21,409 in 5,163 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 23,822 people in 6,166 households.[6] The 2016 census measured the population of the district as 23,550 inhabitants in 6,376 households.[2]
