Glen David VanHerck (born October 20, 1962)[1] is a retired United States Air Force general who last served as the commander of United States Northern Command and North American Aerospace Defense Command from 2020 to 2024. He previously served as Director of the Joint Staff from 2019 to 2020.
VanHerck was born in Murray, Kentucky, and raised in Bismarck, Missouri.[2][3] He graduated from the University of Missouri, where he was commissioned through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps in 1987.[4][5][6]
