Location of Rožňava District in the Košice Region

Hanková (Hungarian: Annafalva, German: Hankendorf) is a village and municipality in the Rožňava District in the Košice Region of middle-eastern Slovakia.

History[edit]

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1556. It was founded under Vlach law. Before the establishment of independent Czechoslovakia in 1918, Hanková was part of Gömör and Kishont County within the Kingdom of Hungary. From 1939 to 1945, it was part of the Slovak Republic.

Geography[edit]

The village lies at an altitude of 490 metres and covers an area of 10.872 km2. It has a population of about 54 people.

Culture[edit]

The village has a public library and a football pitch.
