Jamk University of Applied Sciences (Finnish: Jyväskylän ammattikorkeakoulu) is a university of applied sciences (a polytechnic) in Finland, in the region of Central Finland. Jamk offers a wide variety of degree programmes in both Finnish and English as well as opportunities for open studies that students can complete either online or on campus, depending on the course. Working life-oriented research, development and innovation (RDI) work is one of the basic tasks of Jamk as a University of Applied Sciences.[2]
Jamk University of Applied Sciences was also accepted as a member of the Erasmus+ European University E³UDRES² in 2022.[3]
Degree programmes in English:
Jamk currently provides seven (7) bachelor's degree programmes in English:[4]
- Automation and Robotics (Bachelor of Engineering): The programme provides the students a strong basic competence in automation and electrical engineering and good skills for continuous professional development. 240 ECTS credits with approximate completion time of 4 years.
- Business Information Technology (Bachelor of Business Administration): The programme focuses on Game Production from multiple angles and provides the students with wide opportunities to specialize in the game arts or game design side of game production. 210 ECTS credits with approximate completion time of 3,5 years.
- Information and Communication Technology (Bachelor of Engineering): In this programme students will get all the ICT, project and teamwork skills needed in ICT tasks in international organisations and deepen their skills in either Software Engineering or Cyber Security. 240 ECTS credits with approximate completion time of 4 years.
- International Business (Bachelor of Business Administration): The EFMD accredited bachelor's degree programme in International Business provides students with the knowledge and core business management skills they need to succeed in the global marketplace. 210 ECTS credits with approximate completion time of 3,5 years.
- Nursing (Bachelor of Health Care): The education in Degree Programme in Nursing is highly esteemed and meets the strict quality requirements set in the EU legislation - A Bachelor of Health Care is a Registered Nurse. 210 ECTS credits with approximation completion time of 3,5 years.
- Purchasing and Logistics Engineering (Bachelor of Engineering): In the EUR-ACE accredited programme the students will learn to understand the strategic role of purchasing and how companies can support their business competitiveness. 240 ECTS credits with approximate completion time of 4 years.
- Tourism Management (Bachelor of Hospitality Management): In this programme students will gain a deep understanding of responsible tourism management, digital value creation, and creative service business. Customer orientation is applied with a focus in experience economy and service design. 210 ECTS credits with approximate completion time of 3,5 years.
Jamk currently provides nine (9) master's degree programs in English:[5]
- Advanced Practise Nursing (Master of Health Care): The programme provides master-level education for experienced nurses who wish to work in clinical care with more varied and demanding responsibilities. 90 ECTS credits.
- Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics (Master of Engineering): In the programme students will gain a general overview and knowledge of potential application of data analytics and AI, machine learning, neural network methods and mathematical models behind them. 60 ECTS credits.
- Cyber Security (Master of Engineering): The programme provides students with knowledge about cyber security management, technical implementations, auditing, legislation and regulations and they'll learn to plan, develop, implement and control different technological solutions in realistic company environments - as well as how to test and audit these solutions. One of the most important outcomes is the knowledge and skills to defend against cyber security attacks they'll get to learn in a safe, education-oriented cyber environment. 60 ECTS credits.
- Digital Rehabilitation (Master of Health Care): In this programme students will be building competences with presently available digital technologies while gaining additional skills in using and designing emerging technologies. 90 ECTS credits.
- Full Stack Software Development (Master of Engineering): The programme provides students understanding of modern software development tools and methods and let's them become familiar with the most important technologies and application frameworks, both for back and front end. 60 ECTS credits.
- International Business Management (Master of Business Administration): The principal focus of the programme is to enable students to develop professional skills, innovate new ideas, solve complex business problems, and explore new business opportunities. 90 ECTS credits.
- Professional Project Management (Master of Engineering): Professional Project Management gives students extensive knowledge of project activities - after graduation students will be able to utilise project management methods and tools and work in diverse networks and multidisciplinary teams. The programme provides a good foundation for project management certifications. 60 ECTS credits.
- Sport Business Management (Master of Business Administration): After completing this programme students will be able to understand the concepts of leading and managing sport organizations, apply marketing concepts to sports, utilize the sport business intelligence to improve business performance and develop effective strategies for sport business organizations. 90 ECTS credits.
- Sport and Exercise Physiotherapy (Master of Health Care): The focus of the programme is the specialization to manage prevention, gain expertise in clinical reasoning and decision making, and manage rehabilitation processes including collaboration with athletes, coaches and other sport professionals in multidisciplinary teams.
Its campuses are located in Jyväskylä (Jamk Main Campus, Dynamo Campus, Finnish Music Campus) and Saarijärvi (Institute of Bioeconomy).[6]
