Career

[edit]

On January 15, 2022, Pérez signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers organization as an international free agent.[1] He made his professional debut with the Dominican Summer League Dodgers, hitting .278/.371/.500 with eight home runs and 28 RBI across 48 games.[2]

Pérez spent the majority of the 2023 campaign with the rookie–level Arizona Complex League Dodgers, also appearing in seven games for the Single–A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. In 53 games for the ACL Dodgers, he slashed .257/.389/.503 with a league–leading 11 home runs, 41 RBI, and nine stolen bases.[3]

During the 2023-24 offseason, Pérez made minor mechanical changes in his batting stance, which included standing closer to the plate.[4] Returning to Rancho Cucamonga, he hit eight home runs and posted an .825 OPS in his first 244 at–bats, a performance which earned him an invitation to the 2024 All-Star Futures Game.[5]
