Álvarez Varona made his ATP main draw debut at the 2022 Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell after qualifying for the singles main draw, defeating Philipp Kohlschreiber and wildcard Max Alcalá Gurri before losing to Brandon Nakashima.[2]

Ranked No. 927, at the 2024 Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell he entered the qualifying competition with a wildcard.
