Move & Expansion Proposed[edit]

to elimiate disambiguation and allow for multiple formats of the same information, I propose moving the current template to {{Archive formats (by type)}} and creating a new templates such as {{Archive formats (by operating system)}}, and {{Archive formats (by archiver software}}. Shouldn't Quantum_compression be added to this template? 86.132.41.146 (talk) 22:51, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

xz should be in the list - but I note the ordering of the compression only formats appears arbitrary. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.81.113.169 (talk) 06:57, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

.pkg (Solaris) and IPS[edit]

.pkg files is Solaris have nothing to do with IPS! IPS doesn't have on-disk file format, it is distributed strictly over network, and the .pkg files are Unix SVR4 packages, so I am removing this bizarre mistake from the category. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.220.120.251 (talk) 00:09, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
