Template talk:Red Hat

From Wikipedia the free encyclopedia

Fedora Legacy was a community project. Why is it listed as a "defunct product". A product implies that it was sold, which Fedora Legacy never was. I think it should be removed from the "defunct products" list.

Products versus projects[edit]

  • Red Hat work together with the upstream community on a number of projects (for which it is the major contributor). Adding a projects section will allow us to move Fedora there (it does not make sense under products) as well as add a number of other important ones, like Spacewalk.

Make it so I can see what you want to include there. Gary King (talk) 17:14, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Important People[edit]

Matt Hicks (engineer) is the CEO of this company and a foundational member of OpenShift. He should be in the "important people" list like all others. The page should be linked as it will be made in the future (we are talking about the current CEO of this company that is going to be notable enough in no time like his predecessors). When he becomes notable enough to warrant an article on Wikipedia then he can and should be listed here. Until then, however, such a redlink serves no purpose on a navigational page; there is nothing to navigate to, and at this point based on the draft, he is unlikely to get a Wikipedia article about him. If he is "important" then let that be decided by his notability. Otherwise, it's just you saying he's important, and that's not reason to include him here. - Aoidh (talk) 18:32, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
WP:EXISTING is the guiding principle here. There's no reason to include a redlink. —C.Fred (talk) 18:43, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Well, can he be written in blank text to the article can be linked when its ready and other people would be reminded that it needs improvement to be added as a navigable page so they help make the article Draft:Matt Hicks (engineer) (new CEO of this company and the guy behind OpenShift that will get enough coverage soon) notable? It doesn't need improvement, it needs notability. Once there's an article for him we can address including him here. Until then, there's no need to mention him here. The purpose of navigation templates isn't to advertise draft articles of questionable notability. - Aoidh (talk) 21:01, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
