Teruyoshi "Shokei" Nakano[3] (中野 昭慶, Nakano Teruyoshi, October 9, 1935 – June 27, 2022) was a Japanese special effects director.
Early life
[edit]Nakano was born on Andong, Manchukuo (now Dandong, Liaoning, China).[1] His father worked for an affiliate of South Manchuria Railway called International Transport.[4] His childhood was characterized by wealth, and he attended Andō Yamato Arimichi National Elementary School.[5] His family was transported to Niihama, Ehime, Japan after Japan's defeat in 1945, where he graduated elementary school before moving to Kyoto two years later.[6][7]
