Thomas Jenkins (born 16 March 2001) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer. He plays as a winger or centre.
He previously played for the Penrith Panthers and Newcastle Knights in the National Rugby League (NRL).
Background
[edit]Born in Boorowa, New South Wales, Jenkins played his junior rugby league for the Young Cherrypickers.
Playing career
[edit]Early years
[edit]In 2019, Jenkins played for the Riverina team in the Laurie Daley Cup.[2] In 2020, he was signed by the Penrith Panthers to play in their Jersey Flegg Cup side.[2]
2022
[edit]In round 25 of the 2022 NRL season, Jenkins made his NRL debut for the Panthers against the North Queensland Cowboys.[3] It would be his only first-grade appearance of the year.[citation needed]
2023
[edit]In round 16 of the 2023 NRL season, Jenkins scored his first try in the top grade during Penrith's 23-27 golden point extra-time loss to North Queensland.[4] In round 20, he scored two tries for Penrith in their 24-14 victory over the Dolphins.[5]
In October, Jenkins signed a 2-year contract with the Newcastle Knights, starting in 2024.[6]
2024
[edit]Jenkins played 5 matches for the Knights in the 2024 season, before being released early from his contract at the end of the season.[7][8]
