List of Cities by GDP AFD
[edit]Hello, would you care to comment here - Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/List_of_cities_by_GDP - ? It was you who iinitially brought up the subject. Cheers. THEPROMENADER 06:39, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
updates to Russian IDN ccTLD
[edit]Your changes make claims that are unfounded and impossible. The domain has not been approved, especially not on 10-30, which is impossible, since applications to ICANN were not accepted until Nov. 16. Since due diligence process takes some further time it is impossible to be approved. The registry for the domain has an official statement about the process and only describes the sun rise period and a projection that the domain might be approved early in 2010. Official ICANN estimate of any IDN ccTLD to be active is mid-2010. Please stop adding nonsense to the article that is not supported by references. Kbrose (talk) 16:20, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
- Whatever you want to change make it from the current revision, because there are many changes has been done that does not relates to current status. Do not revert the article to very old revision only to remove the one statement. Elk Salmon (talk) 17:53, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
- On 30.10.2009 ICAAN has approved the whole idea of non-latin domain. By the time .рф was already applicant. The status of fast track procedure applies to status of .рф domain. Elk Salmon (talk) 17:53, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Moving pages: Siberian/Amur tiger
[edit]Hi. I'm afraid that the way you moved this material from Siberian to Amur Tiger is technically wrong, and I've reverted it. This is because you have separated the material from its edit history. There is a special process for moving the whole article together with its talk page and edit history.
If the new title is not occupied, you can use the "move" button at the top of the page. However, in this case Amur Tiger was already occupied, so what is needed is to delete that and then move the article. This can only be done by an admin, and so what you do is place the following on the talk page:
== Requested move ==
{{subst:move|NewName}} A short reason for page name change. ~~~~
This automatically posts an entry at WP:Requested moves. Other editors will then contribute to a discussion about the move on the talk page, and if a consensus for the move is achieved after a week or so, an admin will close the discussion and do the move. In a major move like this I think discussion first would have been a good idea, as a major undiscussed change may well generate strong views. Reopening a discussion
[edit]I want to reopen the discussion Naming_conventions_(Cyrillic)#Example_convention regarding bibliographic references because I think Unicode changes the game somewhat. Since you have participated in the same talk page, I hope you will visit the discussion and give me your opinions. Thanks! LADave (talk) 23:32, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
ESA logo
[edit]Hi there, regarding this edit and others like it, please do not use the ESA logo in places like this. It just gets removed by people who seem to have some sort of fixation about removing as many graphics and images as they possibly can from Wikipedia. Instead, please use (or in this case leave alone) the graphic File:Not the esa logo.png which was specially created for the purpose. I have restored several of the articles you edited. [edit]Hi. When you recently edited MTS India, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Russian (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Wikipedia Stories Project
[edit]Hi!
My name is Victor and I'm a storyteller with the Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit organization that supports Wikipedia. I'm chronicling the inspiring stories of the Wikipedia community around the world, including those from readers, editors, and donors. Stories are absolutely essential for any non-profit to persuade people to support the cause, and we know the vast network of people who make and use Wikipedia have so much to share.
I'm scouring user pages looking for inspiring, motivating and interesting stories of how Wikipedia has affected the lives of people. I'm asking questions like "How has Wikipedia changed your life?", "What's the most interesting story you have about Wikipedia?" and "Has Wikipedia ever surprised you?"
I'm curious why you write about skyscrapers?
Last year, we used the annual fundraiser as a way to show the world who it is who actually writes Wikipedia. We featured editors from Brazil, Ukraine, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, India, United States and England. This campaign was a huge success, resulting in the most financially successful fundraising campaign ever. It was also a campaign that stayed true to the spirit of Wikipedia, educating the public that this free top-5 website is created by volunteers like you and I.
This year we want to highlight more Russian-language Wikipedia editors, so I am in the process of planning a trip to Russia to interview editors.
If you or someone you know (or have heard about) has been positively affected by Wikipedia, or have something interesting to say about Wikipedia I'd very much like to hear about it!
Please let me know if you're inclined to take part in the Wikipedia Stories Project, or if you know someone else with whom I should speak.
Of course, if you have any questions or concerns, please ask! I will answer as soon as I can. I apologize for any poor translation of this letter, I am using Google-translate. I hope it makes you laugh :)
Thank you for your time,
Victor Grigas

Language of edit summaries
[edit]Hi, I noticed your recent edit to Graphics display resolution. Since this is the English Wikipedia, could you use English for your edit summaries, so that they're understandable to other editors as well? You might also want to drop a quick note on the article's talk page to explain your edit, otherwise someone might mistake it for vandalism and revert it. Thanks! Indrek (talk) 17:30, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
- Surely. Just lost in place little bit, forgot that i'm looking at en.wiki. Elk Salmon (talk) 17:57, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
Yandex browser
[edit]Hey,
I noticed you renamed and moved Yandex browser to Yandex.Browser without explaining why. From what I can see, the title "Yandex.Browser" is the company's own style of their product, and using the style on Wikipedia can be seen as promotional. Titles should be as clear, neutral and precise as possible. I think that the original title is the best in this situation. We can still include that "Yandex.Browser" is a stylization in the lead of the article.
Thanks! Michaelzeng7 (talk) 21:30, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
- It's proper name, brand name in this case. And fully fits into WP:MOSTM in analogy iPod + CamelCase. And definitely it doesn't look as promotion. Elk Salmon (talk) 01:29, 24 December 2012 (UTC)

Apple's system on chip-devices are not named "Apple".
[edit]So, you should probably not name the article Apple (system on chip) that way. It's a page of Apple's SoCs, it's not about anything named "Apple". -- Henriok (talk) 08:08, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
- There are commonly accepted names - Apple A4, A5, A6 etc. And all clarifications are given in brackets. Just like with other SoCs - Snapdragon (system on chip), Atom (system on chip) and not just SoCs. Elk Salmon (talk) 08:18, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

Skyscraper - dubious
[edit]In the article Skyscraper, you added a {{dubious}}

2K resolution
[edit]Please make sure you check references before making an edit to the page. Edit war is not a reason to revert an edit and remove information that is supported by valid references that note that a subject is significant, and notable.
The content on the page is referenced and supported by content that makes it notable and verified, and does not support the edit you keep replacing.
Please check the references before editing. The "edit war" is not reason to remove content that is supported by multiple references. Please also be aware that those making the content war edits are contiunously doing so because they are editing in their opinion, which is not verifiable nor acceptable under Wikipedia standards. Encyclopedic content must be verifiable. The content that is supported by reference is what belongs on the page, not the personal opinion of editors whom do not have verifiable references to cite. All references that cite the section that is being edited support the comparison section, and they do not support the inclusion of FHD/1080P as a DCI resolution. It is not verified to have 1080P in an information set that it references show that it does not belong to.

- Please do not hijack the article. WP:3RR has been breached a several times already. Elk Salmon (talk) 16:04, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
The article was not hijacked, it was updated according to references. Personal options have no place on Wikipedia, only information supported by verified content. The article is in a state where it is supported by references that are verified and reliable. Remember, Encyclopedic content must be verifiable. The information on the page is verifiable, the article previously was not verifiable. Franbunnyffxii (talk) 05:21, 2 September 2015 (UTC)
You are instigating an edit war with content that is no supported by references and then using false claims. Please refer to references before editing, and stop instigating an edit war. Your edits were not warranted in the first place, and I will be contacting an admin about this. You're causing an edit war, and including information that is NOT supported by references. You claim fake references when these references are Official DCI material, not 3rd party. These are actual referential sources from a first party source and are fake. Wikipedia is based on verifiable references, and not personal opinion. The page was in a verifiable state, and was in an edit war until you came across it and began an edit war. Your own reasons on the edit, are your own faults that you are causing now. Wikipedia is not a place for opinions and debates. Content must be verifiable, and first party sources are reliable by standards. Your edit warrning instigation is not acceptable. Franbunnyffxii (talk) 05:04, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Logo бургер кинг.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Logo бургер кинг.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:49, 17 December 2015 (UTC)
1080p is not referenced in any official literature concerning 2K resolution. Wikipedia is based on references and citations, not personal opinion! Please stop adding it.
[edit]The talk page has already decided that 1080P does not belong on the 2K resolution page. Please read the talk page for the decision. Continued editing of the page will result in being directed towards Wikipedia administration, as this debate has already been discussed and resolved. No cited sources, and no reliable sources are able to be utilized for this subject, and adding your personal opinion to a wiki page is not acceptable editor behavior. Personal opinions do not belong on Wikipedia, and unreliable and potentially misleading information does not belong on Wikipedia either. If you have any questions, please refers to the talk page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:2K_resolution Franbunnyffxii (talk) 06:58, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
- It was given clear that the talk page is not just about Digital Cinema standard. It's about set of 2K resolutions, including PC standard. It's not a first, not even 10th time you revert edits made by many other users in the article. So please, do not hijack it. Elk Salmon (talk) 07:31, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
Please read the talk page, it has already been decided that 1080P does not belong on the page and is only applicable to the page. The article you linked also conflicts with your opinion and itself with it's diagram and inaccurate information. Therefor this CNET is not a reliable resource in this context, either. The article you linked says this specifically "But now that "4K" has gained traction as a term used to describe TVs and content, "2K" is becoming increasingly common as shorthand for the 1080p resolution used by most HDTVs, as well as Blu-ray. It's not technically accurate,Bold text but that didn't stop "4K" from becoming more popular than UHD." And also supplies this diagram: https://cnet2.cbsistatic.com/hub/i/2016/01/22/6ed480f7-33c3-4112-a1d8-7e5639d4869a/fd7d9ca9beb257d770404090c62d5145/resolutions-with-names-v2.jpg This directly conflicts with the addition, and admits that this terminology is inaccurate! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Franbunnyffxii (talk • contribs) 06:29, 3 June 2016 (UTC) This page has been revertered several times not just by me but several other Wikipedia editors in an effort to maintain it's accuracy and keep it up to wikipedia standards.
You are the only editor after the talk page that continues to return to the page and vandalize it. Due to this, I will be contacting Wikipedia administration about this issue.
Reitterating a message that was posted before.

- The article is hijacked. You've been told many times by many different people. Yet pure arithmetic does not require a source. Facts does not require citations. Still, a reliable source were provided, whatever you like it or not. If you want to stress on DCI resolutions, try to make another article related solely to DCI resolution. Yet most probably it will be quickly merged as current 2K article isn't that big, so could hold all anything related to 2K, including DCI, PC, TV etc. Elk Salmon (talk) 08:51, 3 June 2016 (UTC)
The article was not hijacked, and was edited properly by an article editor that cleans up posts and was edited properly. I contacted the writer of the post inquestion and he agrees that this was an error in his writing. https://twitter.com/TechWriterGeoff/status/738728375414493184 I have contacted Wikipedia administration about your vandalism of the page. The talk page itself agreed to remove 1080P from the list and
A few other rules being broken as well. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:No_original_research No original research is allowed on wikipedia either, which is what you are trying to put into the page. All articles and facts being put into wikipedia require citations. You are also violating this rule https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Do_not_disrupt_Wikipedia_to_illustrate_a_point It was agreed on the talk page, no one agreed that I was hijacking the article. Several other wikipedia editors came to agreement that 1080p did not belong, and the issue was settled more than 8 months ago.
Again I am contacting wikipedia administration about your repeated vandalism on the page. Franbunnyffxii (talk) 14:09, 3 June 2016 (UTC)
Also be aware that the article you have used as a reference for your resolution addition has been edited and no longer calls 1080p 2k resolution as you cited. http://www.cnet.com/news/tv-resolution-confusion-1080p-2k-uhd-4k-and-what-they-all-mean/ Franbunnyffxii (talk) 14:16, 3 June 2016 (UTC)
File source problem with File:Moscow strogino.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Moscow strogino.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. The lead section for the Moscow Central Circle
[edit]Hello. I was wondering why you reverted the entire lead section? The current version is not particularly reader-friendly. You mentioned that the section was "misleading". What exactly was misleading about it? Thanks. StrokeOfMidnight (talk) 18:56, 17 September 2016 (UTC)
- I wrote down on the talk page. It was more about MK MZD rather than about MCC. MK MZD has its own article. Elk Salmon (talk) 19:04, 17 September 2016 (UTC)
Sorry, I'm confused. You mean the lead section I wrote emphasizes the old railroad (MK MZD) more than the new one (MCC)? If so, I did mention things like bilingual stop announcements, WI-FI, etc. I said very little about MK MZD. It was all about MCC. No? StrokeOfMidnight (talk) 19:34, 17 September 2016 (UTC)

[edit]Your recent editing history at Ariane 6 shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. McSly (talk) 00:13, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
