Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

People from Sicily are italian and this is not a POV. The reason why is that "The Sicilian Statute" (the Constitution of Sicily) (http://www.ars.sicilia.it/home/Statuto.pdf (in Italian)) doesn't talk about Sicily as a nation or about Sicilians as a separate ethnic groups. It talks about Sicily as an Autonomous Region inside the Italian Nation. The Spanish Constitution (as you know) talks about "The Ethnic Groups of Spain", as I said previously it's a different situation. Hence this is the reason why the terms Sicilians is today a historical mistake. Sardinia has a different Statute that talks about Sardinians. Have you read the Statute of Sicily? I wrote you my conclusions about the article "Sicilian Nationalism" in its talk page. As I told you in the talk page, in all of my actions I follow always a neutral point of view, because we write in an encyclopedia and not in a personal blog. This is the reason why the term "People from Sicily" is correct, because our Regional Statute doesn't talk about Sicilians or Sicilian People. I'm using the most important and impartial reference (Sicilian and Italian Laws) in order to respect the NPOV policy in Wikipedia. We write article by using the Wikipedia Guides (include NPOV) and not by considering what other users write, because it's not sure they are right. Finally, please don't create the page "Sicilian People", because it already exists (People from Sicily); Wikipedia doesn't allow to create more than one page for the same argument. Wikipedia doesn't consider the Sicilians as a distinct ethnic group from Italians (because we are not). The articles you take in consideration talk about "People" from a particular location. In order to be clear this is the equation:

Wednesday October 28, 7pm: WikiWednesday Salon and Skill-Share NYC

You are invited to join the Wikimedia NYC community for our evening "WikiWednesday" salon and knowledge-sharing workshop by 14th Street / Union Square in Manhattan. This month, we will also host a Newcomer's Wiki Workshop for those getting started on the encyclopedia project! We will also include a look at our annual plan and budget ideas, to see if the chapter is able to fiscally sponsor more ongoing projects tied to our core mission of expanding and diversifying free knowledge. We welcome the participation of our friends from the Free Culture movement and from educational and cultural institutions interested in developing free knowledge projects. We will also follow up on plans for recent and upcoming editathons, and other outreach activities. After the main meeting, pizza/chicken/vegetables and refreshments and video games in the gallery! Two options for this Sunday: Soviet Jewry Edit-a-thon & Women In Science Edit-a-thon

You are invited to join the Wikimedia NYC community for one of two edit-a-thons this Sunday, just bring your laptop and an interest in participating! No special knowledge of the subject or Wikipedia knowledge is required, and there will be Wikipedia training workshops for new folks. Soviet Jewry Edit-a-thon @ Center for Jewish History 15 West 16th Street, New York, NY 11:00 am - 4:00 pm, Sun Nov 22 Join at the Center for Jewish History (drop-in any time!), during which we will create, update, and improve Wikipedia articles pertaining to the American Soviet Jewry movement. Women In Science Edit-a-thon @ NY Academy of Sciences 7 World Trade Center - 40th Floor 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm, Sun Nov 22 Join at the NY Academy of Sciences, during which we will create, update, and improve Wikipedia articles pertaining to the lives and works of women scientists. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment.
