[edit]Hello, I'm Ayıntaplı. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Kahramanmaraş, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Ayıntaplı (talk) 17:44, 25 February 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for pointing this out to me. Smpad (talk) 14:48, 26 February 2023 (UTC)
Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to Armenia, Azerbaijan, or related conflicts, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Extended-confirmed required
[edit]It has come to my attention that you have recently started to edit in articles related to Armenia and Azerbaijan, this editing area is under a community imposed extended-confirmed restriction. Your number of edits is below the threshold for editing in the area, thus you cannot currently edit in articles and content related to Armenia or Azerbaijan, please refrain from doing so, any edits you have done since this restriction was implemented should be reverted, I will take the liberty of reverting wherever it's appropriate. NMW03 (talk) 13:20, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
- NMW03, this sounds strange to me. And how many more edits do I have to do so that I can edit articles related to Armenia or Azerbaijan? Smpad (talk) 14:39, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
Extended-confirmed is required
[edit]Hi. You recently made some edits on "Ilham Aliyev" article. I reverted them, because your edit count is below the threshold. I see that you have been warned already, but you still keep doing it. Please refrain to do so. Aredoros87 (talk) 18:00, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
- Aredoros87, colleague, can I ask you as EC user to do my edits again? Smpad (talk) 22:03, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for your understanding! But sorry I cannot. Because I don't agree with that edit, since the term "Azerbaijani" is not only ethnicity, but national identity too. Anyway, this is not a right place to discuss it. And I'm actively working on another article. It would be better if you would start a discussion on the articles talk page. Good luck. Aredoros87 (talk) 11:34, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
- Aredoros87, yes, "Azerbaijani" is also national identity, but text states "ethnic Azerbaijanis", so the ethnicity is meant clearly. So, do you have the source that killed Azeri citizens were all ethnically Azeri Turks? Smpad (talk) 15:46, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
- You're right. I updated the sentence. Again, if you have further concerns please create a new thread in Talk page. Thanks. Aredoros87 (talk) 16:38, 29 November 2023 (UTC)

Re: Question
[edit]I could try it myself: unlike archaic and modern English, archaic Italian is intelligible compared to modern Italian. --LukeWiller (talk) 14:00, 19 January 2024 (UTC).
- But I have a problem: my English isn't very good, and this text is too complicated for me. At most, try writing to the Wikipedia in Italian literature project (it:Progetto:Letteratura). --LukeWiller (talk) 14:29, 19 January 2024 (UTC).
- Thank you, colleague. With respect. Smpad (talk) 14:38, 19 January 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Smpad, hope you're doing well. I can see you're still active in Talysh related stuff. Are you aware of these sources? [1] [2] [3] I'm sure they will prove useful. If you can't access the pdf files, I can send them to you. HistoryofIran (talk) 22:07, 30 January 2024 (UTC)
- Colleague, thank you for the sources! Yes, I was aware of them, but not all of them I could access until recently.
- I am more active in Talysh topic on Russian Wikipedia, where soon at my request a mediation on the peoples of the Republic of Azerbaijan will be created, and these sources will be very useful to me. With respect, colleague. Smpad (talk) 15:33, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
- Interesting. Here are the sources, including another source (also published by Brill) which is not about the Talysh but the South-eastern Caucasus in general, you might find it of use. The download links will expire in 7 days. Please let me know if you're in need of any other source.

DYK for Petik and Sanos
[edit]On 28 March 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Petik and Sanos, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ...that the influential Armenian merchants Petik and Sanos expanded the Armenian Church of the Forty Martyrs in Aleppo, in spite of Ottoman laws that banned new construction and expansion of churches? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Petik and Sanos. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Petik and Sanos), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
