hi victor how do you get those user boxes in the user page? I edited your Shundi and Halla pages. I am planning to write more about bengali literature related materials. thanks for the welcome message, Jeroje06:34, 8 January 2007 (UTC)jeroje[reply]
Re: Bidhan Nagar edit on 26 December, how's it spam?
Hi, I have just come accross a message you left for me at my ip address talk which said "Your edit to Bidhan Nagar, Kolkata on 26 December 2006. Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming, and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising. Thanks. --Victor 02:55, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
I went up and looked the edit you talked about, and I had just linked the city centre link in the article, to City Centre (shopping mall). How and why did you come to the conclusion that it was inappropriate, and that I was spamming, and moreover felt it was serious enough for you leave a message on my ip talk page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.176.105.35 (talk • contribs) 12:37, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
We have not had occasion to discuss matters. I recently came across your note on the Rajarhat talk page. I have been working on the cities and towns for some time. I started with transfers of material from Ganeshbot and then got involved. Recently, I have put in a district template for all towns in West Bengal. Maybe, I have missed few here and there. Please have a look. Feel free to make corrections, as you deem fit. Regards -- P.K.Niyogi03:49, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your response and also your warning about the Bankura map. I have added it. Yes, slips do take place. I have been editing pages without any regard to personal attachments. It is a good learning experience. Regards -- P.K.Niyogi04:41, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Victor, Though it's a minor issue, I just want to point out that you cannot use "fair use" images at User:Victor.P.Das/Images I have uploaded. Such images are subject to strict usage guidelines, and any usage or display of the image must be on a page where the usage will be fair under the criteria (i.e. an article about the object).
Actually, you can use thumbnails for images with licenses that allow for it. Fair use is just another name of using a copyrighted work under a strict and narrowly defined way ... you can ONLY use it to illustrate the object. Even if you had uploaded it, the image is still copyrighted. Any usage of it outside the strict fair use criteria isn't allowed, and so, user pages/subpages cannot have fair use images (see #8 on the criteria page). Hope this helps. --Ragib18:03, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. A new WikiProject about Saskatchewan has been started as an attempt to better organize information in articles related to the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. If you would like to participate, you can Saskatchewan articles, add Saskatchewan content, or visit the project page, where you can join / edit the project and/or contribute to the discussion.WikiProject Saskatchewan
From your many contributions, you have already written some awesome articles on Saskatchewan! It is cool to have an addition. Saskatchewan and folks are truly wonderful! SriMeshtalk Julia 03:07, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh! Thank you! That is much easier :-) I hope WP SK works out, some of the other provinces have just gone for it, and SK has so many articles online, but they all don't have categories or Talk templates to help bring them together for a quick search.
Hi, I am not a very active Wikipedian, but I try to make a contribution when I can. I was wondering if there would be interest in some of the Saskatchewan Wpers getting together some time in the near future. I suggest the Craik Eco-Centre at noon for lunch on Saturday, June 23. Thanks for uploading Image:EastBengalNewLogo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot20:10, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That is a terrific photo you took. And in winter -- Reginans are always rather bashful about photos of their city when it is minus 30 degrees, but that is, when all is said and done, when the city is at its most characteristic. It is a pity, though, that you only took one. Or did you? It would be nice if there were photos that showed the new Wascana campus of the university to better effect: from the new oval, for example; or showing the new residences. Any chance that you will be in Regina again in the foreseable future? Or that you took a few other photos when you were last there? Greetings, incidentally, from Australia.Masalai18:54, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You're right, I suppose: with brighter sun the photo would have been even better; but as I say, that IS what Regina looks like much of the time and it is certainly the best photo there is. Masalai03:35, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please help to create the first newsletter for WP SASK ? ... a pilot perhaps could start similar to....WP SASK Newsletter Do you have any other ideas ... it seems like other WP projects have tried to use newsletters, would it be helpful for WP SASK to also have one?.... Do you wish to receive a newsletter like this?
WikiProject Saskatchewan Newsletter: Volume 1, Issue 1 - June 2007
Thanks to many contributors like you, we're proud to state that our province is coming together to provide direction related to Saskatchewan article content and format. Saskatchewan Wikipedians have also helped to identify missing or unfinished Saskatchewan articles. There is already one featured Saskatchewan related article and two featured Saskatchewan related lists followed by several "B-Class" rated articles. (Featured Articles).
Two New Articles On Saskatchewan Communities:by Fishhead2100
Two news articles have been created. One on Osler, Saskatchewan and the other on Cadillac, Saskatchewan. Those two articles need some attention with formating, information, and much more.
Articles needing adoption require people to take on the task of reasearching, editing, revising, and more. Anyone can adopt an article. If you are unclear on which articles need adopting, don't hesitate to ask.
WikiProject Saskatchewan is pleased to announce that the Outreach Department has been established. It is designed to be a centralized location where we will work on recruitment and member interaction efforts. Thanks to WP:NV for the idea and codes.
Thanks
Thanks to WP:INO for some newsletter ideas and codes.
Looking forward toward more contributions from you! Happy Editing!!
Advertisements for recruitments within your WikiProject sub-groups are also welcome. If you see a new Saskatchewan created article by a Wikipedian who has not signed up at Wikipedia:WikiProject Saskatchewan, please extend a welcome to them. We'll run special sections, and recurring columns in the coming issues.
The Saskatchewan Roads Wiki Project has been merged within the scope of WikiProject Canada Roads recently. It is a group of wikipedians who work on providing information about Saskatchewan roads and highways. Their contributions gain more significance as we try to provide more information about our thoroughfares. You can help too. Contact the members on the Saskatchewan Roads wiki project pages to learn how you can help in making the best highway pages in Wikipedia!
Saskatchewan collaboration is another branch for the WikiProject Saskatchewan. First and foremost, to improve Wikipedia through the addition of new articles on notable Saskatchewan subjects and the improvement of existing articles.
An invition is extended to members / subscribers to design a new WP Sask newsletter name with its own banner or font style. This would give a similar appearance to the WP Sask newsletter as the Wikipedia community newsletter name the Signpost which used the old english font for its unique naming. A proposal could be offered up for our own Wiki Project name for the new WP Sask newsletter similar to....Star Phoenix, Leader Post, Herald, Booster, or Times Herald (which are already in use for SK newspapers)....Something is needed for the WP Sask Newsletter.
Please add new articles and as the newsletter acquires new information an update will be sent out to all subscribers signed up on WikiProject Saskatchewan Subcribers
A tag has been placed on Saskatoon and District Soccer Association, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
Looking forward to the meetup; looks like it will be a small group this time. I've noticed the speedy deletion issue myself before, so that is a good topic for discussion. Please not that there should be wireless internet access at the Eco-Centre, so bring laptops if you like. We should try to keep the meeting to under an hour, as there are other sessions and events being held that day that I would like to check out, but am flexible. --Delzen19:38, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hello there. How are you doing? Have made a new template....Location map Saskatchewan. I have tested it on Regina, Saskatoon, and have it in place on Simpson. Are you able to type up the minutes of the meeting and add them online? Perhaps on the meet up talk page to begin with.... SriMesh | talk02:06, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Could we use the meet up notes to start the July issue of the SK newsletter? Would you like to modify the June issue to start up the July page? I think that would make an awesome newsletter for July Let me know what you think??SriMesh | talk04:28, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Have been working on the University of Saskatchewan Article, and added this sub-article...University of Saskatchewan Academics which is in progress. Will use its sections for the template, until full college articles are written. Invitation if you want to help out... SriMesh | talk03:46, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh No!!! I was doing some more about the U of S...University of Saskatchewan Academics and learned more about your area of study, {it is fascinating BTW), did you know the Virtual College of Biotechnology is going away, and they are going to call it the School of Public Policy...I like College of Biotechnology much better myself, the proposed title...Masters of International Trade...isn't too bad. The article on U of S website says that the Virtual College of Biotechnology cannot make an identity for itself to become the College of Biotechnology...so it is changing next year!!! 2008!!!... argggghhhh.... SriMesh | talk06:47, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Now that July's newsletter is hot off the press, the proposed third edition (blank template awaiting / inviting updates) Volume 1 Issue 3 August 2007 newsletter. You had some excellent proposals at the meet-up, if you would like to add another article or two / update for the newsletter, that would be cool! SriMesh | talk05:10, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
There are some articles added to the newest newsletter. Please re-read the articles started at August 2007...there are some updates regarding the wiki meet up and progress reports in that regard. I have left a message to Mr.Fishead, aka C.C. as well as ultraflame regarding further additions.. So far the articles don't repeat each too much. I find that is interesting when looking around at other WP newsletters. Have a wonderful long week-end....! SriMesh | talk01:34, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The WikiProject Saskatchewan Newsletter aims to give a summary, both of the activities of the WikiProject and Saskatchewan Wikipedia / Wikimedia activity as known/reported.
Please comment about the formation of a new concept - a Saskatchewan Portal
Take a peek at the Canadian Portal. There are four provinces, BC, ON, PQ, and Nunavut. There are also four Canadian cities with portals of their own as well.
Portals are pages intended to serve as "Main Pages" for specific topics or areas. Portals may be associated with one or more WikiProjects; unlike WikiProjects, however, they are meant for both readers and editors of Wikipedia, and should promote content and encourage contribution.[1]
A unique concept by Portal India was to add a quiz as well India/Quiz
Portals introduce the Wikipedia reader to new developments by the wikiproject showing selected biographies, articles, pictures to feature periodically, and archive the previous suggestions. The portal may list information introducing the portal subject, categories, did you know, to do, other wikiprojects and news features as well.
Whereas Wikipedia:WikiProject Saskatchewan is an organization created to promote Saskatchewan usage and participation in Saskatchewan article editing and development.
As New articles are created check the wiki link at the bottom of the article title 'What Links Here. Here related articles and biographies are listed which should have reciprocal links or information upon the newly created main article page.
SuggestBot uses your prior contributions to predict other articles you might want to edit. This robot may give you some recommendations you may like to attempt. SriMesh | talk01:24, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Quite a few of the topics of debate have been addressed by visiting editors who have helped in various ways to address ongoing concerns. Requests for assistance with online existing Wikipedia Saskatchewan articles were given improvements / changes where needed.
Looking forward toward more contributions from you! Happy Editing!!
This would be WikiProject Saskatchewan's third full-fledged edition of our Newsletter, and we'd like to start by saying we are very happy to have you among us. Archives:

When looking through some Saskatchewan Highway articles (especially those containing intersection lists), you may notice that there are red links to potential Saskatchewan road articles (especially Range and Township Roads). However, many of these roads do not appear on the List of Saskatchewan provincial roads. If you happen to read over any highway articles, and you notice a red link to a road that does not appear on the provincial roads list, please add the road's name to the appropriate section on that list. Eventually, I believe that we will have a list of all known Saskatchewan rural roads. Thank you. Ultraflame | talk 01:35, 7 August 2007
There are still articles needing attention and please pick one at the Adopt-An-Article department of the the Saskatchewan Communities & Neighbourhoods project.
If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created or substantially expanded article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.|
Please add new articles and as the newsletter acquires new information an update will be sent out to all subscribers signed up on WikiProject Saskatchewan Subscribers

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Alliance Fr logo.gif. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:04, 7 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner.OsamaKBOT16:04, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for uploading Image:AAFC_Logo.jpg. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talkpage. Thank you. OsamaK (talk) 12:05, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AT Bot requests, another very kind user has also offered to help with the transition process (Thank you also to Ρх₥α )
The request conglomerated together the following tasks to help show the quantity / quality of Saskatchewan related articles:
tag all articles in Category:Saskatchewan and all of its subcategories with {{WikiProject Canada |sk = | class=| importance=}}and if{{WikiProject Canada | class=| importance=}} already exists, then can just |sk=yes be added to the Canada template?
all articles which have a Saskatchewan related stub Saskatchewan-politician-stub / Saskatchewan-stub / Saskatchewan-geo-stub to be tagged in their talk pages for wikiproject Saskatchewan and be classified as stub as such: {{WikiProject Canada |sk =yes | class=stub| importance=}}
add GA or FA to to the class parameter of {{WikiProject Canada}} articles if any other template has such a parameter value on the talk page.
add stub to the class parameter if a stub tag is present on the article page.
Replace the old tag {{Saskatchewanproject}} with the new parent wikiproject tag: {{WikiProject Canada |sk =yes | class=| importance=}}and if{{WikiProject Canada | class=| importance=}} already exists, then can just |sk=yes be added to the Canada template?
add to the class area FL for any Featured-class lists articles if any other template has such a parameter value on the talk page.
add to the class area List if the Saskatchewan related item in category:Saskatchewan articles if any other template has such a parameter value on the talk page.
What's New?:Portal:Saskatchewan has a new section! This new section gives access to complete instructions on adding articles and images directly into the portal - step by step. The Saskatchewan Portal was created via instructions in creating a boxportal. Clicking the edit button on the main Saskatchewan Portal page does not help at all to add to the various sections as is usually the case with creation of wikipedia articles. The instruction page give immediate access to the transcluded pages which need to be accessed to change additions to the Saskatchewan Portal!

Develop top importance articles about Saskatchewan such as those about crown corporations. the provincial government and its several departments. From the Saskatchewan wiki meeting held back on 23 June 2007 it was discussed to develop an article on Health in Saskatchewan, and to improve to feature status articles: Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Regina.
The University of Saskatchewan became a good article to celebrate the 2007 anniversary of campus, and should now have a peer reveiw to continue on to becoming a feature article. The List of University of Saskatchewan alumni was developed to assist this article and help would be appreciated providing citations for each entry, and to help add to the list.

Highway Picture Template
Just as there is only one image needed for upload for Saskatchewan locator maps, and then various towns can be updated upon this image. So, too there should be a highway picture template, so that the various numbered highways 1, 33, 34, 58, 913, 914, etc can all have their own image without needing to create a bizzilion numbered images online.
2004 Election
Our 2004 Saskatchewan election has resulted in an amazing number of politician biographies coming online! This was an awesome achievement, and something to be proud of!
Qyd (talk·contribs) and Arctic.gnome (talk·contribs) are editors of a wide variety of Canadian related articles, and of note as of this date is the enormous amount of work they have undertaken to help amalgamate all the various provincial wikiprojects and Canadian sub projects into one umbrella assessment department. This unique assessment department means that Saskatchewan related articles can be assessed for their own provincial merit, and also belong to the Canadian wikiproject as well. It also means that editors from both Canada wikiproject and Saskatchewan wikiproject can unite in their efforts to provide banners and ratings to articles. This will result in a huge improvement in quality on wikipedia, resulting in Saskatchewan's spotlight award for Qyd (talk·contribs). January 2008 newsletter Please pop into the Spotlight Department and read all the brief introductory Wikipedia Saskatchewan bio. Congratulations are sent out to Qyd (talk·contribs)] and Arctic.gnome (talk·contribs) at this time.

Just as panic begins to settle in as to what in the world the next newsletter should mention, new areas of development and growth come about. The coming year of 2008 should provide not only more Saskatchewan articles, but also more articles with higher ratings with the assistance of more editors, and a new assessment department umbrella. The highways and roads project has given a good base for development, and to strengthen the presence and notability of roads and highways and effort is being called upon to help these articles improve, now that they too are under the assessment umbrella.

Saskatchewan Roads and Highways
Saskatchewan Roads and Highways The WikiProject Canada Roads is undergoing an overhaul. It is aiming to produce some Good articles and Featured articles of highway content pertaining to Canada, and for the Saskatchewan Roads and Highways for Saskatchewan highways. As Saskatchewan is still a work in progress this is a challenging endeavour for as the guidelines are followed as laid out at either Highway wikiproject, they become red link farms because wikilinked articles have not been developed regarding the communities, provincial and regional parks and rural municipalities which the highways meander through. Please keep apprised of the progress, and if any Saskatchewan articles rise above stub we will list it on the main page.
There is also discussion started about assessment and navigation boxes on the talk page. Please peek in to add any comments you may have.
Recently articles Saskatchewan Highway 1, 33, 34, 58, 913, 914 have been improved, but they need more help so they can become articles nominated as Good articles. Please help out if you are able, even to create community and rural municipality articles for these Highway articles would be an enormous help.
