Fiona Clare Harvey is an environmental journalist at the British newspaper The Guardian.[1][2] She previously worked for the Financial Times for more than ten years.[3][4] She has won various awards including: the British Environment and Media Awards journalist of the year, and the Foreign Press Association award for Environment Story of the Year (twice).[5] In 2020, she was included in a BBC Woman's Hour list of women in the UK who most help the environment.[6]

Education and early career[edit]

Harvey graduated in English literature from Christ's College, Cambridge in 1993,[7] became a journalist in 1994, and worked for some years writing and editing on information technology.[8]

Environmental journalism[edit]

Harvey has attended almost every United Nations Climate Change conference since 2004, and interviewed many notable people,[9] including Mikhail Gorbachev,[10] Tony Blair,[11] and Antonio Guterres.[12]
