Heidi Parviainen (8 marzo 1979) è una cantante finlandese, conosciuta per aver fatto parte del gruppo musicale symphonic metal finlandese Amberian Dawn.

Ha un registro di soprano drammatico.

All'età di 11 anni inizia a frequentare lezioni di pianoforte classico, per poi diventare autodidatta col piano e intraprendere gli studi di canto classico a 14 anni in un istituto di musica con la cantante Raisa Lahtiranta, con la quale lavora tutt'oggi. In 10 anni Heidi canta in vari cori ed ensemble.^[2]

Il primo contatto con la musica heavy metal avviene nel 1997 quando le viene chiesto di cantare nell'EP degli Agonia, gruppo death metal di alcuni compagni suoi di scuola. Poco dopo entrò nella band come tastierista e backing vocalist. La band cambia poi nome in Iconofear nel 1999 e in seguito lascia il gruppo. Grazie all'esperienza maturata negli Iconofear e negli studi di canto classico Heidi decide di entrare a far parte di un gruppo metal, poiché le sembrava che fosse più vicino ai suoi interessi e nell'estate del 2006 viene contattata per far parte degli Amberian Dawn.^[3] Lasciò gli Amberian Dawn dopo aver partecipato al MFVF nel 2012, annunciando il suo nuovo progetto Dark Sarah.

^ My musical history started quite early in children's music playschool and later at primary school I went on a music-oriented class. I started taking piano lessons at the age of 11, but soon it became very clear that I wanted more than just classical piano playing. After various teachers I quitted taking piano lessons and have played by my self until recent years. At the age of 14 I started classical singing studies in a music institute with a diploma singer whom I'm still working with after these 14 years. During more than ten years I have also sung in various choirs and ensembles.
^ The first touch to heavy music I got in 1997 at high school when a couple of high school heavy metal- guys asked me to sing on their EP. By that time they played death metal and the band was called Agonia. After a while I joined the band as a keyboard player and a backing vocalist. From 1997 the band has changed its' form and name, and is nowadays called Iconofear. After years of classical singing studies I grew up to the idea of being a vocalist and during these ten years with Iconofear I have also grown into heavy music. So in the summer 2006 I started to look for a band, a metal band, because it seems to be closest to my interests. Guys spotted my application, listened to my samples and called me. Amberian Dawn was created and I'm very happy and proud to be part of it!
