オッド・アルネ・ウェスタッド（2015年）

オッド・アルネ・ウェスタッド（Odd Arne Westad, 1960年1月5日 - ）は、ノルウェー・ムーレ・オ・ロムスダール県オーレスン出身の歴史学者。専門は、冷戦史、東アジア国際政治史。

経歴[編集]

オスロ大学卒業後、ノースカロライナ大学で博士号取得。オスロ大学準教授、ノーベル研究所研究員を経て、ロンドン・スクール・オブ・エコノミクス教授および同大学冷戦研究センター長を務める。その間、ケンブリッジ大学やニューヨーク大学、香港大学で客員研究員を歴任。ハーバード大学ケネディ・スクール教授を経て、2019年からイェール大学歴史学部教授。

ノルウェー語や英語、フランス語、ドイツ語、中国語（北京官話）、ロシア語などの多言語を駆使することで知られる。

著書The Global Cold Warでバンクロフト賞（コロンビア大学）及びアメリカ政治学会のマイケル・リントン賞を受賞した。2011年には、英国学士院のフェローに選出される。
