English: Movement of the gates. In normal tidal conditions, the gates are completely submerged and lie on the seabed of the harbor inlets, full of water; when a high tide is forecast, they are emptied of water with the introduction of compressed air and rise until they emerge, creating a continuous barrier that temporarily divides the sea from the lagoon.
