The Mk II Cortina, built from 1966-70 was a squarer, boxier shape than the Mk I. Engines were initially carried over from the Mk I but replaced in 1967 with the 1600 with the cross flow head. A mild facelift in 1969 saw separate F O R D letters on bonnet and boot, a black grille and chrome above and below the tail lights.
In England and NZ the models were; Base, Deluxe, Super, GT and in 1967, 1600E (NZ GTE). Australian models were 220, 240, 440, 440L, GT and GTL.
The 440 was the base model 4 door, this car still with no radio or external rear view mirrors.
