Mecca, sive Makkah (Arabice مكة المكرمة Makka al-Mukarrama), est urbs in Arabia Saudiana, caput provinciae Meccae. Caput urbsque sanctissima etiam est religionis Islamicae, et si possint, omnibus musulmanis Meccam eundum est. Anglice, saepe iam, verbum Mecca sonat locum ubi multitudo congregat, vel etiam aleatorium. Idcirco administratio Arabiae Saudianae mutavit nomen urbis anno 1986. Mukarrama dicit Arabice 'honorata', 'venerabilis'.
Peregrinatio Meccam, a Musulmanis videtur unam ex columnis quinque Islamicis esse. Nuper, fortasse vicies, tricies centena milia se in Medaba congregaverunt, mense Islamico Dhu'l Hijjah. Pauci eorum, qui non Musulmani sunt, viderunt ritus peregrinationis, quod non possunt urbem Meccam ingredi.
Necesse est omnibus Musulmanis quinquies per diem orare, et eis Meccam adversis precandum est. Pars precum Arabice appellatur qiblah. Musulmanis, Templum Divinum (Arabice al-Masjid al-Haram) est sanctissimus orbis terrarum locus.
