Aleksei Ivanovich Bugayev (Russian: Алексей Иванович Бугаев; born 25 August 1981) is a former Russian association footballer who played defender.
Playing career
[edit]Bugayev has played for Tom Tomsk, Torpedo Moscow and Lokomotiv Moscow. In 2004, he was included in the Russia national team and played at Euro 2004.

Personal life
[edit]On 28 October 2023, Bugayev was arrested in Krasnodar in possession of 495 grams of mephedrone and he was expected to be charged with illegal drug distribution.[1]
On 24 September 2024, Bugayev was convicted of drug distribution (he pleaded guilty) and was sentenced to 9.5 years of imprisonment.[2]
