David John Carr (4 August 1943 – 12 July 2011) was a British keyboardist and composer.

Carr joined The Fortunes in 1963, and performed on their first hit songs, including "You've Got Your Troubles" (no. 2 in UK[1]) and "Here It Comes Again". He left the band in 1968, and relocated to Hollywood, Los Angeles in 1971. He worked with the instrumental group The Ventures,[2] and was a member of the band from 1972 to 1978. He worked as a studio arranger for the band up until his death.[3] Carr worked with Kim Fowley as well, and the two co-produced the album "Beauty's Only Skin Deep" for Cherie Currie in 1978. He later opened a recording studio in Burbank, California.[citation needed]

Carr died of a heart attack in California on 12 July 2011, aged 67.[2][4][5] He was survived by two children.[2]
