FLAME University is a private, coeducational and fully residential liberal education university located in Pune, India. It is known as FLAME - Foundation for Liberal and Management Education.

Leadership

The academic program at the FLAME University is led by Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Dishan Kamdar.[2] Kamdar was previously the Deputy Dean, Academic Programmes & Professor of Organisational Behaviour at the Indian School of Business, the top ranked global business school in India.

Former Vice-Chancellor Dr. Devi Singh,[3] who stepped down after a term at the helm, continues to play a leadership role as a member of the Governing Body. In the past, Singh served as Director of the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow.

Earlier, as the Foundation for Liberal And Management Education institute, it was headed by Prof. Indira Parikh,[4] former Dean of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.

Undergraduate Program

FLAME University provides a four-year Undergraduate Program, with the flexibility to exit after three years, aligned with NEP 2020. The degree nomenclature depends on the chosen major.[5]

4-year Undergraduate degrees and their majors. All 4-year Undergraduate programs lead to Honours degrees.

Undergraduate Design Program

FLAME University provides an interdisciplinary undergraduate design degree, focussed on experience design.

Postgraduate Programs

FLAME University offers MBA,[6] MBA (Communications Management),[7] Postgraduate Program in Entrepreneurship and Innovation (PGPEI),[8] and M.Sc. (Economics) Postgraduate Programs.[9]

Doctoral Program

Areas offered under the program are Management, Economics, Psychology, Data Science, Environmental Studies, Humanities, and Sociology.

FLAME Scholars Program

The one-year FLAME Scholars Program[10] builds on the foundations laid in the undergraduate years. It emphasizes mentorship, research, and participatory learning. After successful completion of the program requirements, the student is awarded a postgraduate diploma.

Campus

The 70-acre campus of FLAME University is in Pune, Maharashtra. The campus was designed by Vastu Shilpa Consultants, an architectural firm established by B.V. Doshi, the 2018 Pritzker Prize laureate.[11]

The campus facilities include the Vivekananda Library with over 55,000 books, the APJ Abdul Kalam academic block with laboratories, the Shantiniketan auditorium with a 500+ seat capacity, and a sports centre. There is a golf course, courts for football, tennis, squash, table tennis, badminton, basketball and volleyball, an outdoor Olympic-sized swimming pool, and facilities for track and field, futsal and handball. There are carrom and chess areas.[citation needed]
