Fumiya Takahashi (高橋 文哉, Takahashi Fumiya, born March 12, 2001)[1] is a Japanese actor and model. He is best known for his lead roles in Kamen Rider Zero-One and Fermat no Ryōri.

Biography

Takahashi was born March 12, 2001, in Saitama Prefecture, Japan.[1] In 2017, he participated in a beauty pageant "Male High Schooler Mr. Contest [ja] 2017" and won the grand prize in December.[2] He had his first television appearance in Nippon TV's Tokuson: Life Hacks! [ja], which premiered on April 12, 2018.[3] He debuted as an actor in the stage play Taishō Roman Tantei Dan: Muttsu no Maria Zo in April 2018 as well.[4][5] Besides, he participated in the fourth season of Ameba TV's reality show Who Is the Wolf? [ja] in Q3 of the same year, which raised Takahashi's popularity.[6] During this period, Takahashi was referred to as "the top handsome high schooler in Japan".[6]

In July 2019, it was announced that Takahashi would play the protagonist role in Kamen Rider Zero-One, the first Kamen Rider series in the Reiwa era.[7] At the age of 18, he was the first main Kamen Rider actor who was born in the 21st century.[8] He was also the first participant of "Male High Schooler Mr. Contest" who played the lead role of a Kamen Rider work.[7][a] Zero-One aired from September 2019 to August 2020.[7][10]

After having taken part in the Kamen Rider series for a year, Takahashi played as student Tōya Fujiwara in TV Asahi's Sensei wo Kesu Hōteishiki. [ja] from October 2020, making his first television drama appearance after Kamen Rider Zero-One.[10] He joined the filming of the drama series only four days after the end of filming process for Kamen Rider Zero-One the Movie: Real×Time.[11] He also played a student role in another television drama, Captivated, by You.[11] He played Akira Nikaidō in TBS's Kikazaranai Koi ni wa Riyū ga Atte [ja] from April 2021, making his first appearance in a prime time drama.[12] While consistently making appearances in television dramas,[13] his notable works include Saiai [ja] in 2021[14] and I Will Be Your Bloom in 2022.[15]

In 2023, Takahashi marked his first lead role in a primetime drama on Fermat no Ryōri, based on the manga series by Yūgo Kobayashi [ja], and co-starring Jun Shison. He played the lead character of Gaku Kitada, a mathematical genius who becomes a chef.[16][15] In the same year, he also played a lead role in a romantic movie for the first time in Kōkan Uso Nikki [ja].[17] In 2024, Takahashi has played a dual role in Densetsu no Head Shō.[18]
