Gabasawa is a Local Government Area in Kano State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Zakirai.
It has an area of 605 km2 and a population of 211,055 at the 2006 census.

Economy
[edit]In Gabasawa Local Government Area, a variety of crops are grown, including soy beans, millet, sorghum, and groundnuts. The region is home to multiple markets where a wide variety of commodities are purchased and sold, as well as a thriving trading industry. The residents of Gabasawa Local Government Area also work in metalworking, textile weaving and dyeing, and cattle ranching, which are all significant economic endeavors.[2]
