Matthew Edward Wilson (born September 27, 1964) is an American jazz drummer.

Early life and education

Wilson was born in Knoxville, Illinois. He studied percussion at Wichita State University.

Career

Wilson moved to New York City in 1992, and has worked with Lee Konitz, Cecil McBee, and Dewey Redman.[1] When asked who influenced him as a performer and educator, Matt responds: "There’s not one person I could point to because there’s a lot of them."[2]
